Ok, so the start up cost looks to be the major challenge. But, I plan on making a working prototype and then offer a group buy (of course with approval of our Almighty AK ). If the GB works out and we get enough interest, I will go ahead with the plan and invest in proper molds, etc...

I think it's great that you are tackling this. I hate that cars like Scion TC's have taillight housings that look better than ours...meaning there are black/smoked sections, not actual overall design.
I still can't believe we not have one option, being the JDM tails. I honestly contemplated getting them and having them professionally tinted lightly.

I understand that the low sales numbers in our car could be reason why no one else has invested in a new design. It just doesn't make too much sense to invest in something with zero to very low return
