How do I get this dealer applied badge off my car? I tried Goo Gone, which is citrus based, with no results!, it's big and ugly. Chuck

A hair dryer will help soften the adhesive so you can peel it off. Don't get the plastic bumper too hot. Once you get the sticker off, the GooGone should take off any remaining adhesive.

Peel by pulling horizontally, not vertically nor upward motion.
Like tug of war pulling, not yogurt lid peel back pulling. Couldn't think of anything funny to post on this diy... |

First off, whenever I buy a car, I make the dealer take it off as part of the sale. That way if anything happens to the paint, it's their fault.
But yeah, use a hair dryer to soften the glue, then use GooGone on whatever residue is remaining.

I told the salesman when I bought my last two cars, unless they are going to pay me $100 a month for advertising then take it off. I got the 8/ face. When i picked up the Z they detailed it really nice for me.

use any nylon strings such as dental floss like what MDZOwner said, you can use guitar strings, tennis strings, and fishing strings to wiggle it back and forth and use microfiber towel to clean the residue using residue cleaners, and wax your car

Unwaxed dental floss, followed by goo gone and a credit card. Works every time.

Typically if it's a hard emblem type I use light weight fishing line and hair dryer. I basically take against the back of emblem which leaves the ds tape. Then the remaining ds tape I use 3m adhesive remover. If you soak the remaining tape in the adhesive remover it practically falls off. I've done this on fresh emblems as well as 20 year old factory emblems. It seems to work much better than goo gone. If it's a vinyl decal then I use my finger to pick/pull it off then adhesive remover. Once done just use some light scratch remover to polish out the area.

if it's the soft foam type gray mounting tape, RC car motorspray usually desolves the foam and it's pretty easy to remove it.
if it's like the vhb, then you'll want to follow my instructions to pull it horizontally instead of upward after you get the emblem and most of the mounting tape off. |
