scruff, the hub adapter is what actually attaches to the splined portion of the steering column you then have 2 options:
1. Attach the aftermarket steering wheel directly to the hub adapter or 2. Attach the Quick Release to the hub adapter and then attach your aftermarket steering wheel to the Quick Release If you go with the NRG hub your going to need a quick release as its a short hub. I hope that clears it up some!
