Any standard Z owners have the Nismo spoiler?

I like the look of the Nismo spoiler but wonder how it'd look on my Tourist Sport. I don't want it to be overkill or look stupid, and I know there are plnety of aftermarket options too. So I'm asking if anyone has the Nismo spoiler, how you came to select it, if it works for you, etc.

Pics too if you have them!

DEpointfive0 01-05-2014 10:51 PM

Not many will have an authentic Nismo, usually the Evo-R knock off just because the Nismo wing is like $2000.
I've seen the Evo-R on a normal Z... Looked stupid, too high... I did however see a (I want to say) Seibon CF wing on a standard GM and thought it looked pretty good. Look up member fairz and ask for pics

XiP 01-05-2014 10:55 PM

I think the sport package spoiler goes well with the car. If you change it to the Nismo spoiler I don't think it'd flow well with the rest of the car unless you get the full Nismo body kit as well
Same with the Amuse spoiler, etc.

exsanity 01-05-2014 11:25 PM

Technically, I haz the NISMO spoiler without owning a NISMO. I have a sport-touring-nav.

I'm a fan of "Factory Authentic" options that are more unique.

Can you post a pic please? I have the same car.

Seen it done a couple of times, but normally with the replica version

^^^ The top one I believe is the Seibon, it isn't as high as the Evo-R and looks better in my not so humble opinion. the Evo-R one make the car look like an RC car... (Then again, I have a CB radio on my car, so who am I to talk)

Those are all from the EVO-R thread.

I love the NISMO wing but will absolutely suggest that he has full aero, and a different set of wheels to pull it off correctly.

The wing by itself will be too aggressive for your car Robert and you would have to drill holes into your trunk which I know you were not trying to do

winnre 01-06-2014 12:07 AM

No drilling! I'd rather have one slightly bigger than the base that I can just swap out.

exsanity 01-06-2014 12:15 AM

I wish I could take pictures.. when I'm home, I will.

Then this is a no go for you, the wing is too heavy to not be drilled into your hatch.

zae757 01-06-2014 12:25 AM

...I kind of like the look of the sports model wing, it's subtle and attractive. Just my opinion though...

Why not Mine's add on or I think Carbon Signal makes an add on. Last choice is the duckbill

Drilling holes = weight reduction.. right? :ugh2:

My person opinion to anyone that is wanting a "big" wing.....
If your gonna change factory cosmetics, especially the wing!!!! its almost mandatory that you change the whole body kit. the Nismo wing will look odd if the sides, front and rear stay stock. U can 99.9% get away with changing skirts, front and rear w\o touching the stock wing. but the other way around, only changing the wing to a big whale tail.... U need to bulk up the rest of the body:tup:

OldFart 01-06-2014 05:03 PM

I say go for it if it's what you want, since I've put mine on I've yet to have anyone say it looks too big or out of place, if anything just the opposite. OEM Nismo front bumper and side skirts are next along with a VIS hood. Not doing it because I think the rear spoiler looks out of place, doing it because it's what I want.

It's the EVO-R one.. It's like a 1/2" taller and a little wider than the factory one, but it is also about $1600 less than an OEM one. Got it from the ZStore. Nice thing about this one if you already have a factory sport spoiler on, it uses the same holes.

winnre 01-06-2014 05:24 PM

Ooh good info, thanks!

I got my authentic Nismo wing for around $600 already painted.

xxAGAVExx 01-06-2014 08:25 PM

I like the Seibon. I'm in the same boat as you OP, I'm trying to decide between the Evo-R, Seibon, or just getting a carbon fiber base wing.

LMBmikeZ 01-06-2014 09:00 PM

IMO nismo wing/nismo style looks fine with OEM body :ugh2:

LMBmikeZ 01-06-2014 09:00 PM

this looks great IMO

winnre 01-06-2014 09:04 PM

I'm leaning towards original paint color.

If you can't get a Nismo one, get Seibon.

Jordo! 01-07-2014 05:09 AM

I wish someone would make a S-tune wing that would fit the factory sport spoiler holes :(

Luciano13 01-07-2014 08:37 AM

:iagree: that's the only downfall if u go outside the standard Nismo wing. I think amuse bolts in direct and the Nismo. Even mine, which covers quite a bit of the hatch....still had to drill new holes:shakes head:
But im ok with the out come:icon17:

cooltoy 01-07-2014 09:20 AM

You have to drill holes with Amuse as well. But it does cover all factory holes of course.

Jordo! 01-07-2014 12:58 PM

What do you guys think about trying to convince somebody to make a S-tune replica that would be a direct swap -- cover all existing holes, and ideally require no new holes?

I could start a thread with an interest poll...?

Who are the sponsors that make nice fiberglass and cf rep parts?

cooltoy 01-07-2014 01:26 PM

I am not sure if it possible due to the way that wing sits. Might look odd. You'd have to have those four extensions to cover the holes.

Jordo! 01-08-2014 02:03 AM

Hmm. I see what you mean.

I guess it could be sort of a cross between the sport and the s-tune -- more like sport+mines as a single piece.

Anyone have a pic handy of what the mines add-on looks like from the side and rear?

^^^ Yeah, somebody should make something like that, but as a single piece. No clunky looking bolts for an add-on.

Would anyone be interested in something like that?
