Fender vents??

So on a top gear Jeremy said the 458 has fender vents because when the cars at speed the wheel creates air pressure in the fender. So the vents are

So on a top gear Jeremy said the 458 has fender vents because when the cars at speed the wheel creates air pressure in the fender. So the vents are there to keep the car down and create down force.
