Needs your opinion on debadging!! pics inside

So long story short, i had some work done on the back bumper that was covered by the dealership :driving: they had to repaint the bumper which made them remove the 370z & nismo emblems and currently the car is without the emblems, but they went ahead and ordered new emblems for me and now its my decision whether i want to keep it this way or put the emblems back. What do you guys think?

Debadge and black out (or do a gun metal grey color) the Nissan hamburger!

SuperTom 12-28-2013 01:01 PM

its a nismo being unique I would not debadge. But blacking it out or shadow chrome could look nice

osirus 12-28-2013 01:07 PM

It's funny that you bring this up, cause GF and I had this same discussion, only difference we have is when we bought the car it was fully debadged. So after many discussions, she wanted to make it OEM as much as possible, so we ordered the factory badge and put it on. It's her baby and she's happy.

kenchan 12-28-2013 01:12 PM

without the badges the rear reminds me of a 350Z. and that rear was not pretty... minded me of a jack-o-lantern. :ugh:

i would keep the badges on the car. and no plasti-shitt. keep it chrome.

JWillis72 12-28-2013 01:19 PM

I would leave them off if it were my car.

xxAGAVExx 12-28-2013 01:20 PM

I just debadged my car today. Don't have a nismo, but I'd say leave off the 370z but keep the nismo.

The weight savings and improved aerodynamics makes this more than worthwhile. I'm guessing it is worth 5-6 car lengths in the quarter mile. Possible better than a supercharger.

winnre 12-28-2013 02:37 PM

Put NISMO in the center and leave everything else off.

Wonka2581 12-28-2013 02:40 PM

I say keep them...

I thought about plasti-dipping the hamburger but I thought that would make it look a bit ricey..

I totally agree, I just really liked the way it looks when debadged, maybe just cuz I felt the bumper was too crowded with too many emblems

lol i agree with the 350z rear being somewhat ugly, but why are you against plasti-dipping?

that would probably look sick! i just don't wanna go through the trouble of removing the Nissan hamburger

waaaasabi 12-28-2013 05:55 PM

I mean since your taillights are already tinted, this would definitely look good with it:

Yeah you're probably right, maybe i will end up plasti-dipping the hamburger and see what happens

black_sedan 12-29-2013 09:39 AM

I say plastidip it, you can always remove it if you dont like it. Should flow well with the smoked lights.

Nice to see another Jax member around.

If you are keeping the Nismo badge, replace the Nissan hamburger with this:

Motorsport! SALE! 370Z "Z" Logo Rear Emblem, Satin Silver, 09-13 370Z - The Z Store! Nissan-Datsun 240Z-260Z-280Z-280ZX-300ZX(Z31/Z32)-350Z-370Z Parts or this:

Motorsport! SALE! 370Z "Z" Logo Rear Emblem, Chrome, 09-13 370Z - The Z Store! Nissan-Datsun 240Z-260Z-280Z-280ZX-300ZX(Z31/Z32)-350Z-370Z Parts

It's your car, do what makes you happy.

I love these emblems I picked up on ebay from Taiwan. They match the z fender emblems perfectly...looks like my z came from the factory with them.

I have a related Q. I'm getting similar work done. Why, exactly, do I need to buy new badges? Can you not re-apply the ones already on there?

I would really like to get these, how difficult was the process of removing the Nissan hamburger and replacing it with the Z emblems?

Well you could re-apply them but they will look like they were re-used since they have to use some type of glue to stick them back

[QUOTE=nhbpcivicsi;2631411]I would really like to get these, how difficult was the process of removing the Nissan hamburger and replacing it with the Z emblems?

I just got a plastic spatula from Lowe's, took my time and the hamburgers popped right off. I did put some tape along the edges of the indentation where the logos fit, to make sure I didn't scratch the paint. It's just double sided tape that holds the hamburgers on. I just worked my way around the hamburgers carefully to loosen up the tape and they came off easy.

The Z emblems are really nice. I was a bit apprehensive since they are from Taiwan, but the quality is great and they do match the fender emblems perfectly.

Oh I didn't know the hamburgers were double sided tape just like the 370z, thought they were different, also is the Z the same size as the hamburger? because I thought that there is already some marks on the bumper that is pre-located for the hamburger to fit in

The Z's are the exact same size as the hamburgers...they fit right into the indentations made for the hamburgers.
