Battery Acid stain?

Hey guys, i will try to make this as clear as possible because i have been making threads that are unclear so my bad on that. Anyway a couple days ago i opened my hood and saw a bunch of white looking stuff all under the it and near the windshield wipers, i tried cleaning that **** off with no luck so i need some suggestions. for the record this car is pretty new only 800 miles so im guessing its been sitting there at the dealer before i bought it. ALSO i have a bunch of rain stains on the Wipers and my paint and saw a bunch of suggestions on claybar, will that help?? finally how would i clean the stains from the plastic windshield covers, the plastic part thats outside the mirrors?

did u ck the battery to see if it was actually leaking? if so, take it back to the dealer and have them fix it.

that's odd. do you not have a battery compartment cover? it's a black plastic decorative cover that goes over the battery compartment.

is that stained at all inside/outside?

that stain might be from something else...

the battery area is fine, its near the brake liquid cover where all this white stuff is... looks like acid and idk how to clean it lol

kenchan 11-22-2013 02:53 PM

brake cover is on the opposite side of the car.... and why you say 'battery acid stain' ??

Hey atleast my grammar improved in this thread. :ughdance:

for your plastics that have some texture on the surface, you can also try a white vinegar to distilled water mix (70:30) in a spray bottle and keep misting it so it's wet. it will take time to dissolve, but it can be done that way too.

then wash your car.

If it's a hard water stain, mix 1:1 ratio of water&vinegar, soak it with papertowel and wipe! Because Vinegar is a acidic base, it'll dissolve mineral deposit.

This trick will definitely come in handy during the scorching hot summer and hardwater (from sprinklers) get on your paint.

i mentioned 70:30 for a reason. and it needs to sit on the stain for some time to dissolve the calcium deposit. wiping with papertowel is mostly the coarseness of the towel, not so much the vinegar.
