Default 370z 2013 LED Day lights Kit

Hi Guys,

I have a 370z 2013, which is equipped with daytime LED Lights, which are on during the day, and off during the night, the LED day lights cannot be turned on along with the normal headlights, so I came across this Kit from ijdmtoy.com, which enables the LED day lights to be on with the normal headlights and there is a clear installation guide on the second link

I am not an expert in this subject, and I'm looking for some advice if this is OK to be done on a car and if anyone knows about any disadvantages for doing this I would appreciate the feedback

Kit:

Cheers!

So all you need is 2 wire taps and a length of wire. They threw in 2 led's and called it a kit.
Thanks for posting the instructions though. I will be splicing mine together this weekend.

Subbed, I'm interested in knowing the benefits of the DTR lights being on with the headlights.

Just the coolness factor.. the HID headlights will overpower the led's

Has anyone tried this yet?

I may be wrong but if you can successfully do this and you are splicing into the parking light wires, the daytime running LEDs will not turn on during the day if you use the Auto heads lights function. They will only turn on if u manually switch it.

I would think the other DIY is better where you connect both harnesses together for the LED daytime running Lights and run a new power wire into the cabin from the passenger side and wire it to a 12 volt connection i.e cigarette lighter.

I'm 95% sure you don't need a "kit" to pull this off. You should just need a $0.10 Radio Shack diode.

If someone can get me the wiring diagram for the main harness connector on a 2013, I can write it up and we can collab on a DIY. If it's setup like I think it is, you can do this in 5 min, no splicing, 100% reversible, for less than a dollar.

I am a salesperson at a Nissan dealership. I talked to the tech in the back that deals with all the electrical stuff. He said it wont be that easy. Something about the LED running lights dont draw alot of power so they are probably connectly directly to the BCM or something....whatever he said ...I am sure he knows what he is talking about b/c it went straight over my head. haha

He said hes gonna try hooking my 370z up to the computer and see if theres a way he can reprogram the computer to make the LED's turn on during the night before he helps me attempt anything involving cutting, tapping, or breaking. lol

Doubtful. They will still be fused and there will still be a signal wire. Now I could see them using the signal wire to power the LEDS, but a diode at the main harness connector would still be the most simple, least invasive solution.

If his "reprogramming" attempt doesnt work, I willl ask him if he can get me the wiring diagram so I can give it to you. Everything you said went over my head too. lol

A diode only allows electricity to flow one way. So you take one similar to the middle one in the picture below with longer leads and wedge it in the pin on the harness "from" the low beam pin "to" the DRL pin. If you want them on with highs as well, just run a second diode from the high beams. I did this on my truck and when the high beams are on, so are the lows, fogs, parking, and DRLs. It's like the 4th of July.

You're not cuttting the original power to the led's so they should still turn on automatically. What looks like will happen is without a diode, the led's, when on, will also power the drl's, and visa versa. .
