Wet drivers side floor board

Just saw this thread. Wondering if you think the amount of water can short anything?

Assuming the water ran down the firewall and avoided the dash and pedal wiring, the only thing I can think of that would get wet is the wiring/connectors to the seat (seatbelt switch, weight sensor, heater, positioning motors). Some water could have wicked up to the center console wiring.

Unless you have something to ionize (eg, salt) in the water, it's not likely to short out 12VDC wiring once things have dried out. But it can happen and modern, computer-controlled cars seem to be more prone to moisture-related problems than older cars. Subsequent corrosion would be my biggest concern.

Haha nope. It had to be leaking for a good while for it to accumulate that much water lol. Unless the wife finally lost it and decided to sabotage my car out of jealousy.

Its rained quite a few times since I posted this thread and not a single drop has gotten inside...... I didnt do anything but mess around with the boot to make sure that its seated. I even poured buckets of water on my windshield and pushed around the boot and nothing. Im going to leave it like that for a while and keep a close eye on it before I start putting the rest of my interior in just to make sure. I really have no idea why it started leaking....

Just an update. I seemingly fixed my problem with the leak by siliconing the outside and inside of the boot.

Funny thing is I had a water leak on the drivers side of my 350z too. Talk about weird. Im assuming that it was the same issue after some googling. I never found out the issue on my 350z since it was totaled out before I could find it. The strange thing is I never touched or did anything with that boot on either car. What are the odds that both of my Z's leak water from the same boot (or have a water leak period) when I have never known anyone else that had issues lol.
