Default Making stock seats two-tone?

Hey guys, I'm about to buy a Z in PG and wanted Persimmon interior, however I believe the only one the dealer had found was sold. I was wondering how feasible/expensive it would be to make the stock black leather seats two tone with a grey middle.

It could be either the stock grey (see pic, courtesy Namir's photoshopping) or preferrably a custom dark grey that would better match the PG exterior.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Shouldn't be hard...You just need to find a good upholstery shop. My Corvette buddy had his all black seats changed to two tone. It won't be cheap. I think this ultimately cost him about $700+

Cool, would they be able to use the stock material? Im looking for the same texture and feel as the stock, just a color switch.

Yea that would look HOT with your car (red).

Still uncertain about what I wanna do... hopefully the dealership can find another persimmon when I go in an hour, but if not I dunno if I want black and worry about making it two-tone...

The center sections of the Touring seats are perfed Alcantara. Any High end Trim shop can probably duplicate it...

I was in one once and he literally had sample cards with hundreds of leather options available..

I work for an upholstery shop here in Texas and have done quite a few two tone modifications on seats. Depending on the extent of the "two toning" you want to do expect to pay around $750-800. To do the center four panels on the Z seats should take 8-10 hrs labor at an average of $65/hr labor. Some shops will keep a back stock of leather in storage or in 70% of the cases you will have to order a hide of leather to use. A typical hide will cost $95-350.

I have the Persimmons and dont want them so part of the sales deal was to get the color changed and the shop they sent me to uses the katskinz. I have the blue paint so my seats are going to be black for the outside trim of the seats and blue suade for the inserts and a blue suade Z on the head rests. Ill post pics when done in a bout a week. So sounds like katzskinz is a good choice.

Why not ask/answer in this thread instead? That way it could help others out that are looking to do the same. I know once I get my base Z I'm going to get the seats and panels done by Katzkin. Either a two-tone setup or try to match the Persimmon color, not sure yet.

got my car back today from getting the persimmons interior switched to a black and blue two-tone. It was a katzskinz kit and it fits really good and seems be even more plush than the stock ones. Its raining and dark out so I cant take any pics yet but I will tomorrow and post them. Also had a spoiler put on and the windows tinted, looks good. So far from what I can tell the Katzskinz seem to be good products, cant say how much it would cost cuz it was part of the buying deal from the dealer.
