i think danalbert's is just a overlay on top of the factory fuel guage? just position and press on.
It's just an overlay Alex made for our cars after he borrowed my faceplate for a few months. Below is a close up shot of the actual overlay from Blackcat Custom applied to the factory faceplate. It uses strong 3M adhesive backing:

The extra work isn't required, but the instructions provided is for the same overlay the OP bought. After the first attempt, you can simply use paint thinner to clean off the paint because the entire face is clear plastic.

Digi, thanks for being the "first in" on this one. Without you, it wouldn't exist.

I'm just pissed the newer models actually have a black face now instead of silver.
they do?!?

I shouldn't buy anything else. christmas is coming and two children should eat my income nicely.

I would like to have the overlays though...I likey. Can somebody tell my husband?

I'm going to wait a little while and then start checking junkyards in Texas for one with an intact cluster panel - or keep an eye out on the forum for one, though I think that's unlikely. If I can get a new panel, I'll just replace it completely

Make sure you get a cluster that is from a car with the same transmission

I definitely have some research to do. But yeah, I would like my gear indicator to read 1-6 and not P R N D M

No problem. I also provided the oil temp and battery gauge faces, but by the time you get access to it you're better off with aftermarket gauges. Below is a mod I did. The gauges light up blue and the needles glow white. I never got to see it in action after modding this for a member.

BTW, with Blackcat Customs you guys can tell Alex to print the overlay in any design, font, color, etc.
