Front/Rear Z Emblems
2 Attachment(s)
Well, after much searching and trying to find pictures I think I've narrowed it down to the two emblems I like the best:
Attachment 78722 Attachment 78723 If you have either of these, or have seen them in person, I would appreciate your thoughts on how they look, their build quality and durability. Also, if there are any other cool Z emblems feel free to suggest. For the large Z emblem I'm not 100% sold on the carbon fiber so I was thinking of doing the ones without any backing but are there any issues with seeing any holes or flaws in the uncovered parts? Thanks, in advance, for any input you may have. Zack P.S. Pics of them on your car are always a plus if you have them! |

http://i821.photobucket.com/albums/z...psa02ecd77.jpg I was reluctant to put them on in the beginning as well because of the CF backing but it looks good  |
I like them both. Can not go wrong with either.

I have had bothe of these emblems. The first ones design I liked better and bought them for the carbon fiber aspect of them. When I got them I was a little disappointed that the only CF was a small diak that fits beh8nd the emblem. I also hated how the adheaive strips make the emblem set up, off the CF disk. The second emblem looks great from the pictures. What you get though is youraide blinker light mounted to the CF base. Looks ok but it doea bulge up quite a bit. Look at your side blinker from the side it has a pretty good rise. I am currently teying to make my own CF emblems. I will probably make the stock nissan ones and see how they turn out. |

Thanks for everyone's input and the pictures! I have decided to do the "Big Z" emblem with no backing. I just ordered it from evo-r.net and I also bought a can of gunmetal plasti dip and glossifier to, hopefully, match my gunmetal sport wheels!

Don't you need the backing to cover the dimples left over from removing the stock emblems?

wow, i like the chrome looking ones (for my silver). :)
good idea for those that removed the "370Z" emblem when you replaced with these Z emblems. im not into having repetitive emblems. like "370Z" then a "Z" then a "NISMO" then NISMO plateframe, and throw in a 'FAIRLADY' in there, etc. :shakes head: it's like we get it. it's a Z. how many times do you need to tell us it's a Z? |
Sub'd!. I like the Evor-R ones with no backing.. and would like to know a little more info/pics if they can be installed without trimming or doing any kind of body work.
Cheers |
what website could i order the emblems from?

I have the one on the right. I had to trim one dimple on the front. They fit great and look even better.

I went with the black Evo-R badges. You need the backing.
Mine came with the carbon fiber and looked cheap to me. I copied someone else's idea and created my own backing (cut from a plastic dealer plate) and painted it body color. |

I've now received the emblems from Evo-R.net and after some people were saying you need a backing and some saying you don't I finally searched and found a DIY where it showed the front badged removed, and the subsequent rectangular hole that resides beneath. I'm now looking for exactly what I need to back the emblem with and how I want to go about it. I've called the dealership and ordered some touch-up paint for whatever I decide to use. I'm leaning towards some sort of cheap plastic sign at Wally World. I'll post up when I have finished painting everything and have the new badges on.

So do you need backing?

Or any other material and which paint ? I have pearl white !! |
That hole makes things really dicey with your options, I cant wait to figure out an alternative.

I'll take some pictures of whatever I decide to do. |
All I did was use the disc that was included with the emblems. Scuffed it up, used some adhesion promoter, had a can of magnectic black mixed up in aerosole, bought a can of clear and sprayed it. Double sided tape and was golden. Been on for a few months and no problems.

I took a plastic dealer license plate and cut it to match the carbon fiber backing plate. I then painted the new backing plate KAD - Gun Metallic using this paint: Touch Up Paint and Accessories | AutomotiveTouchup After the paint dried, I covered the backing plate with 3M clear bra. I used 3M VHB double-sided tape to adhere the badge to the car. Hope that makes sense. |

They are two separate pieces.
If you don't want the backing that comes with the EVO-R emblem, just don't order it. Why pay extra for something you do not want. |
