Painted / Replaced OEM Emblems - Pearl White
I'm not a fan of chrome, so it had to go:

After getting these all put on, I sat in the car and started looking around at all the silver accented trim , but I don't think even I have the patience for that kind of project, at least not at the moment, because you can't be selective, if you paint on piece, you gotta paint them all. |
hummm... the side blinkers look
im not sure about the front and rear emblems. almost looks like they're unfinished? like while building a plastic model you just put it together without painting the bits... |
Nice!
Can you post pics of the side markers on the car? |

They look much better in person. Photo's seem to still give a silver hue, when in person they are factory matched pearl white. I'm happy the way it looks. I would prefer nothing at all, but with the recess there, this will do. |
I'm with kenchan: The side markers look great but not so much the emblems. They don't look bad, just a bit too subtle/understated for me. But it's not my car, so more power to ya.

That being said, I have to agree with the guys here - sidemarkers look great, the badges should either be shaved are done in black/gunmetal. They would probably grow on me after time. Anyway, kudos for taking a chance and doing something different. If you are happy with it, then that's all that matters. |
how hard were the side markers to remove and do? ive already similarly done my emblems in black on my black nismo and the side markers are the next thing on my list then the door handles.

Looks good :tiphat:

Push them towards the rear of the car, and you can pull the front side out, and it just pops out. After that, its a matter of tapping off, and painting. In this case, the 'Z' in the center of the marker was removed, they are just stuck on with gum adhesive, and pop right off with a flat head (gently of course). Taking it out makes it easier to paint, and then tape off the rest of the marker without it there. I actually didn't know any of this before hand, so I had purchased a brand new OEM pair of markers off eBay as guinea pigs $50 shipped, just in case I ruined something in the process. I also want to do the door handles. Was debating on dipping them, but I think I'd rather have more permanent paint, and I liked how everything else came out going factory matched. |
Looks good, I did the z side markers in red and the 370z badge on the back in red to match the brake calipers and it came out awesome

bumping an old thread....did you buy touch up paint from nissan to paint these?
