Kudos to you guys cutting into your hoods!

Not as bad as it sounds. Did my hood, rear diffuser and contemplating changing the opening of my grille to get more air at my intercooler.

what about when it rains?

You can wash your engine, its not an issue. Not to mention the Vet, evo etc etc all have open hoods water gets in to.

You mean like this? Custom grill added and opened it way up.

Sort of, but more. Cutting out the solid piece that covers where the crash bar was as well. Part of my intercooler is right behind it so want to get air directly at it. Then a round hole speed mesh over the entire area.

With the shapes it's a bit tricky but pretty sure I can pull it all off and look nice and clean. Once I'm certain of pulling it off I'll go ahead but not until then.

Let me now if you need it photo shopped.

Appreciate that. Can visualize it easily enough, just a little tricky deciding where the best cut lines would be aesthetically, and functionally at the same time along with ease of doing a nice clean job.

You'll have to remove the crash beam then.

I already have an intercooler where the crash bar was. I'll bend a new one up from 1-1/2" DOM

Something like this.
Even unfinished it isn't too bad. The sides of the 13+ opening at the bottom angle outwards towards the corners so it will be a better, stronger look too.

Have to admit I really like the color too :)

Might give it a go in the morning.

It's morning :)

Will start a separate thread for it
