It takes a pair to start cutting out a hole on the hood. That's one of those "Gotta get it right on the first shot" types of mods.

i ran one of these and a louver when I had a front mount on my STI. Worked great. http://www.kstech.biz/servlet/the-26...I-scoop/Detail

No idea. Don't have logging tools and coolant never leaves 7th dot. Oil we'll see, I have to get on a track.

Off the top of my head, new vet, evos, subis, aston's etc don't have issues and all engines are protected water sealed plugs. Also I'm not the first on a Z so no, it will be fine.

I still think I'd want a scoop covering that mesh. Wondering if a combination of scoop/mesh might be something I could get a really good body shop to pull off.

Not any more then the millions of OEM and aftermarket Evo hood guys that drive year round. Engines get dirty anywho and your plugs and harnesses are pretty water tight.

The water temp gauge is worthless, you might see lower oil temps but probably not. A vent like that will benefit the water/rad setup along with keeping engine bay temps down.

I have been doing data logging with an oem hood and will be adding a seibon TS style soon to run comparisons. This should give a good idea of positive or negative air pressure under the good.

Better hurry, summers almost over.

For DD and traffic it will defiantly work! Heat comes out this thing like a mother!

I've been thinking of adding some heat escape vents into the Z's hood after I've seen first hand how effective they are on the hood of my SRT Cherokee.
OP, looks good and gutsy move!

Adding a string the air is defiantly moving back and up from the vent! So that's very good news. Also at a light the heat is just pouring out. Even with the car shut off, its like a fan blowing hot air in your face. Its insane how hit this motor gets. This really should be effective!
