After 3 months of waiting to be made i finally got my ings wing...I ordered it with regular 160mm mounts and i think i made a mistake, i should have taken the low 40 mm mounts...whatever, its here now and waiting to be mounted on my 370z :P
i will post more pictures when i finish it :)

p.s. wing thread --> here.

axmea? 09-12-2013 11:36 AM

Grats! Nice wing. Pix once installed pls.

XwChriswX 09-13-2013 01:32 AM

If you have a sport package hatch, it is going to be costly to get those holes plugged and painted and new holes drilled. :(

But I love the wing. I have the low mounts and to me they're perfect. It will be interesting to see them with the high mounts because I've considered ordering a set for track days. :driving:

dimitarm 09-13-2013 01:42 AM

I removed the stock spoiler yesterday and i have to say that there is a lot of work :) holes need to be sealed and new to be drilled...i plan to cut the mounts and make them 40mm high....i will post pictures of the progress :)

Wonka2581 09-13-2013 01:56 AM

Why would you cut the mounts? why not send them back and have them send you the 40mm mounts?

dimitarm 09-13-2013 02:27 AM

ive tried that already, they dont make changes after the parts are ordered..also, you cant buy mounts only...so sad :)

The downside to that is be careful when you cut and double check that after you cut, you'll still have material left to support the new holes you'll have to drill. :(

Wonka2581 09-13-2013 04:19 PM

That's the most retarded thing... I cannot believe the company will not hook you up, we'll I'm sport to hear that. I'm in for pics and good luck!

japanese culture wonka. once you order and already in the process of being built, it's yours.

these are made to order. another reason why these JDM vendors charge excessive margins cause they need that for insurance just in case people like you suddenly change your mind and expect vendors to change the order, cancel, or return. :) vendors will then need to re-stock and re-sell at break-even or at a loss.

We mounted the wing on the car directly without the 160mm mounts...
be honest and tell me what you do, dont like :)

Mr&Mrs 09-14-2013 02:11 AM

Actually not bad at all IMO, but that wing is for performance, and now it is suffering. Kind of a waste of money.

GaleForce 09-14-2013 08:19 AM

Needs to be raised. Still a nice spoiler.

XwChriswX 09-14-2013 05:51 PM

It needs to be raised. It wasn't meant to sit that low. Honestly, I'd bite the bullet and order a set of the low mounts and use those for Daily, and switch to the high mounts for any sort of HPDE/Track days. Either that, or sell the high mounts...

And it just so happens I know someone who has the same wing and wouldn't mind having a set of high mounts one day...

synolimit 09-14-2013 07:25 PM

Raise.

dimitarm 09-15-2013 02:02 AM

yea i know it needs to be raised but i cant find low mounts, they arent selling anywhere and the japs dont want to make them for me...what do you suggest?
is there anyone who can make them for me?

Didn't it come with low mounts? Any machine shop can make them.

nismo 1234 09-15-2013 10:48 PM

i can buy your 160m mounts if you want to sell it!

dimitarm 09-17-2013 02:10 AM

ill post pictures in few days with low mounts installed :)

Japanjay 09-17-2013 05:08 PM

Actually that wont be that bad for high speed runs. More like a drag spoiler height. You can take about 18" length pieces of yarn and tape them to the wing along the length of it and gopro the results. You will see where the spoiler is making contact with the stream of air going over the car. That is no higher than what pops up on the 911's, if not a little bit more.

When I ordered mine, I was given the option of low or high mounts. I chose low... Were you given such a choice? :icon08:

ive ordered from japanparts.com

before i sent the payment to them, the agent asked me if i want low or high mounts and i said high because he said that they are 160mm, but they are higher actualy...and after 2 months when i asked him if i can change the mounts he told me that ings cant change them becaue once the order is made they cant change it....

ive made my own low brakets so i will be posting pictures in a few days :)

Maybe someone with the low mounts.. should trade with the OP for their high mounts.. :stirthepot:

kenchan 09-19-2013 09:54 AM

i think it looks fine just like that. :) the wing does overwhelm the rest of the car as it is though.

if you went any higher, you'll probably want to lower the car and maybe even get sportier looking wheels to go with the theme.

dimitarm 09-19-2013 10:13 AM

i will put it a bit higher and i plan to buy these wheels This is the Nissan 370Z Nismo - BBC Top Gear

what do you think? i think they are awesome :D
