Rear Wing - Installs and Experiences
Hello all,
This is NOT a thread to debate whether wings are "cool" or "rice". Kindly take that chat elsewhere. This is for those who HAVE (or are going to) install a wing on their 370z. Leave any thoughts or comments about your experience and price tag too (if you dare) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Company: APR Model: GTC-300 Price: $1,350 Image: Click Here Model: GTC-500 Price: $1,440 Image: Click Here - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Company: Aerojacket Model: Type 1 GT Wing Price: $550 Image: Click Here - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Company: Aeromotions Model: R.Static Price: $1,700 Image: Click Here - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Company: Ings Model: Z-Power Price: $1,725 Image: Click Here - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Company: Esprit Model: GT Wing 262 Price: $1,995 Image: Click Here - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Company: Seibon Model: GTWING-1 Price: $600 Image: Click Here - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - yes i realize that i have not posted every type of wing available for the 370z. I had the GTC-300. It broke and folded on itself at Daytona on the high banking at 150mph. It also cracked the deck lid at the rear of the mounting points. Replaced it with the Aeromotions static and had the decklid reinforced with some plate aluminum to spread the load of wing on the mounts out to a larger area.

When I bought my base, I ordered the oem replica on the cheap from ebay for $130 painted and shipped.
But down the road I might have to go with Aerojacket frp type 3 duckbill (jacked image from member threeseventy )

Rear wing install on a Sport Package was a nightmare.
The OEM wing has 11 mounting points. 4 Bolts, 7 pop rivets. All of which have to be plugged, smoothed, primed, sanded, and painted all before drilling new holes for a wing. Cost: $1500~ If you can swap a hatch with a Non-Sport, I'd recommend it. The only hardship you will potentially incur is having a rear hatch with a VIN that does not match your cars. This could become an insurance concern in the event of an accident.

I have the APR GTC 200 with the AOA set to the highest. Been up to 145mph several dozen times. Works great. Great mild wing with better price.

I think the failure of my wing was due in large part to the load factor of the banking at Daytona. At 45 degrees bank, you are pulling 1.4gs, in addition to the higher speeds pushing on the wing.

also, my AOA on the APR wing was as low as it would go.

Now that is a good looking wing! Just the right everything. Not an aerospace engineer here but looks to me like not too much drag yet great presence. It only takes a small lip to give down force.

Nice,
I recommend you use some kind of plates like he did. Our aluminum hatch is very flimsy. You may also have to order the mounting base from AM, since he isn't using one on his plates, but that is up to you. This is how mine was done:
