Anyone have experience with engine compartment ducts?

Anyone have experience with engine compartment ducts? From behind the radiator to somewhere. I am not talking about brake ducts.

You talking about vented hoods?

Arrvaxx 08-24-2013 06:10 PM

Sort of. I'm curious if anyone has actually added ducts behind the radiator to vented hoods or anywhere else. Wondering if there is enough space and if so where.

It wouldn't be easy. Our engine compartment is pretty stuffed. Some deep heat extractors would be so nice though.

Are you talking about like the GTR has?

Arrvaxx 08-25-2013 11:53 AM

I'm not familiar with the GT-R engine bay but wouldn't doubt it.

I am wondering, considering space limitations, what the best way is to route ducts for air that has been taken in the front for the radiator. I was thinking that the only real way to do this was to route them left and right then vent them at the fenders behind the front wheels. Figured someone with a track build had already worked this out.

Ducting is more efficient than just hood vents at cooling and reducing lift under the hood.

This is from a pre-production Z34 (it also had an oil cooler :icon17:) that obviously didn't make it to our production car. Anyone know where one maybe able to find one as a mod?
