Excessive Heat Coming Through Floor Vent

It may dissipate the hot air under the panel better, since it's got a few vents. The area in question in this thread is well behind where this, or the OEM panel end.

BTW, if you have an oil cooler, the sandwich plate makes it damn near impossible to get the filter out through the trap door.

I do not have an oil cooler so this is not an issue for me.

Once I get it and get it installed, I will post if this has any effect on the hot air coming through the driver's side foot vent.

It it doesn't, the other benefits of this panel are worth the expense to me.

It's worth every penny it costs. Just don't go in thinking that there will be some kind of interior temp reduction because of it.

2011 Nismo#91

That sucks I ordered the black powder coated one Monday, not for heat reasons though. The Nismo model's $900 undershrowd ejector feature kicked in last week on the highway and I wasn't able to retrieve it like the last time.

What is this? I do not have an Nissmo, but I am curious.

Also, ZSpeed has a special shroud for Nissmo. It costs considerably more than model for regular Z's.

Is this the one you purchased? I think it only comes in Powder Coat.

If you go to ZSpeed website, there is a black powder coat shroud specifically for the Nismo. It is 2 1/2 times the cost of the one for non Nismo.

Yeah, and it gets diluted into the new oil. Blackstone Labs told me not to worry about it.

If you are doing your oil changes on schedule the oil shouldn't be dirty (if it is, you have bigger problems to worry about). You will have some "old" oil left in the cooler but it shouldn't be enough to matter or negate the benefit of a cooler. It's a good idea to do a complete change every now and then, especially if you push the engine hard, but, with modern lubricants, not a big deal.

Well I installed the Zspeed aluminum under shroud today. This thing is beautiful. It is made of high quality. Too bad it's underneath the car....

It is as advertised. Has access panel for Oil Filter and drain. As mentioned above, it is made of high quality aluminum. It will protect the under side of car and is so well built, I can't imagine anything penetrating it.

Did not take care of the excessive heat coming from the floor vent. After installing, I learned it is not intended to do so.

I simply have my climate control on, with A/C on or off, depending on how humid it is and make sure the air flow is up top. This eliminates the hot air coming through the floor vents.

You can buy stick on reflective insulation on under side of the floor facing exhaust system. That's what I have done with my race car. Think about what it's like for me as I have no carpet to insulate floors or driveline tunnel. Good reflective insulation takes care of a lot of that heat. You could also shield ventilation system.

You could also go to your local Home Depot and buy a few aluminum ducts and cut holes in your stock cover and rivet the ducts in place to get some air flow.

No need to spend money on that aluminum pan for ventilation.
