When installing this tray or the stock tray. You guys might want to do what I just got done doing. :D Mine has been beat on a few times.

A bit of a bump but well deserved. I just installed this yesterday I got the Nismo one with the black powder coat. I have to say it is a well made product. Everything aligned up nicely with the rest of the car, that I know it should be the norm for everything to fit but some less reputable vendors have poor fitment issues, this does not, its quality workmanship IMO. It was very simple to install and only required a little bit of through to figure out how the sides installed. They provided all the bolts needed to install it so you didn't have to re uses any old parts and the bolts had a powder coating as well to help slow any corrosion. I am very happy with it, its defiantly more solid then the near $1,000 plastic from Nissan. If someone is expecting some more cooling from the aluminum and vent hole I didn't notice any difference and after about an hour of driving I got out and checked it it had pickup any amount of heat an the part was only a bit warm so there's not really any heat transfer going on.

Anyone want to buy an slightly used oem under shroud? =P

+a gazillion.
I just did my first "legit" oil change (the first was the same day that I put on the shroud, so it doesn't really count.) It was so quick an painless that I actually enjoyed it.
Joe does a fantastic job with all of his stuff. I wish I could find the write-up that he did when they developed the CSC for the 350z. It was obvious to me then, that his engineering abilities are very "sensible". If my clutch ever takes a poop, I'll be heading to Dayton to have them do the work.

Nice write up! I have this on my wish list and it is certainly reasonably priced.

What would look best for my magnetic black 370z. shiny aluminum or black coated? Can you see it?

It's under the car. You can't see it.

I noticed at Z1's website the "Nismo" version is an extra 229 bucks, which frankly seems like craziness. What sort of difference is there for a Nismo?

Z Speed Performance Aluminum Undershroud

It's shaped like the Nismo undertray, not the non-nismo undertray.

The two are very different shapes, the Nismo has more material involved in it.
Also, the OEM Nismo undertray (which is plastic) is over $1,400.

For something that's primarily dress up(for the average owner) , it seems very expensive.

Based on that statement, I'm not exactly sure if you know what this part is. It's the exact opposite of dress up. It's under the car. You'll never see it. It protects the underside of the motor better than the plastic.
