Advice on Painting an FRP Lip

I bought a used Evo-R FRP lip from another member. Turns out it was in worse shape than I thought. I should have asked for more pictures. :(

There aren't any cracks in it but it's scratched all over the place. Nothing deep but it's looks very worn. I would never put something on my Z that was in that kind of condition.

On top of that, it looks like it's been plasti dipped. The plasti dip isn't going to come off easily. Best I could do was tiny pieces or Goo Gone (which would take hours of work).

So, my question is, is it worth the work to strip it, sand it and paint it myself? Or, should I just bring it to the shop and have it professionally done? Or should I just cut my losses and move on?

I've never worked with FRP before so I'm not very clear on how much restoration I can even get away with. Any advice would be appreciated.

If you have the patience and spare time, paint it your self. Color matching will take more time and efforts than just painting it black. You will need bondo, sand papers, primer, base color and clear coat and lots of patience.
If you are willing to spend at least a couple hundred dollars, let the professionals do it for you.
