Does it not throw shaving all over when you use a grinder?

I used the AT shift knob from a M45 Infiniti and the OEM MT shift boot with some minor trimming. Much, much prettier IMO. Details and such here... GT-R shift knob on 7AT +pics I primarily use the paddles to shift, FWIW, but occasionally I use the gear stick and no issues with loosening the bezel for so doing. M45 knob locks on in OEM location using OEM clip -- no drilling needed -- and also sits a bit lower. Shift unlock button works perfectly and uses same clip to fasten to lever.

not very much, i was more concerned of the sparks burning or melting interior panels or my head unit.. i covered the areas with an old towel and grinded with a cutting wheel, took no more than a minute to add the two additional notches. quick and painless.
that was another selector i was looking at, but the perforations and round body just didn't fit my fancy, and it didn't seem like a significant change from the OE selector. it is another good choice though.
