installing a camera to eliminate blindspots

I'm thinking of getting a rearview camera but i dont want to mount it above the licence plate like most cars. preferably, to mount it in a location where i can see the back half of the car and more importantly, whats on the side of the car as this is the achilles heel of the Z.
anyone tried mounting the camera 'high up on the back windscreen' to overlook the rear of the car?

C'mon, Knight Rider was an 80's icon. Even 'kids' today, in their early 20's, know about it. Actually I broke up with my g/f recently, who was 10 years younger than yours truly.

I still got what it takes my man. Very few guys age gracefully and work out consistently like me. ;)
