Using Quixx Scratch Remover on Stone Chip

I got a tiny little stone chip on the hood of my car. It went through to the metal, but it's very small... it's literally the size of a pen head. I've used Quixx before but only on scratches. The procedure for exposed metal is supposed to involve a paint pen and wet sanding; what I'm wondering is if this is overkill for something this small. I'm thinking the stuff might work well enough to skip those steps.

Have any of you successfully used Quixx on something like this without resorting to painting and sanding? I've got the paint pen, but I'm hoping I don't need to use it.

The only thing I know to do is to clean the area, and use a paint-pen.

Some here haev used Dr. Colorchip, others have used LANGKA. I've not yet used either.

I tried, and no go. Looks like I'm breaking out the paint pen tonight.
