Chin spoiler question: Does this look right!???
I have a 2012 sport package and I know it's supposed to come with a chin spoiler, but what I have on my car doesn't look quite right.
1. It looks too flat. The pics I've seen they flare out towards sides. 2. It looks like it's sitting too far back. 3. Why are all these metal rivets sticking out like that? Did the dealer **** up the installation? I bought the car used from a non-Nissan stealership, so I doubt I can go complain to anyone to fix this.

Actually that is part of the bumper the chin spoiler is missing.
This is what you need to fix it. http://www.courtesyparts.com/nissan-...-p-620980.html

But is it supposed to sit that far back? And are you supposed to be able to see the rivets sticking out like that? From the other pics, it looks like the spoiler should be up front and I'm guessing the rivets should be hidden behind it. Also I'm wondering why the rivets are installed from the inside out.

Well in the mean time I might paint the rivets black since they are kinda noticeable. I don't really need the chin spoiler, but something just didn't look right here. When I finally get around to an oil change, I'm going to take a closer look what's going on back there. |

The chin spoiler wasn't shaved down or moved back. It's just missing. That flat piece you see is part of the bumper and is visible on all of the base package cars, but hidden on those with the sport package lip. It looks like your lip was installed at one point, but then removed. You need to get a new one.

To the naked eye it looks like someone did some fast repair work and just cut the chin spoiler in half and either made there own holes or didn't have the correct Nissan OEM hardware...so they used what they had.....Any body lines or gaps look out of line? Check for over spray as it may have been in a small fender bender....

wat baer said. it's part of the factory bumper. remove the rivets and you're set...well sort of if you dont need the factory air deflector for the sport.
might suggest doing a local WTB ad. im sure there's someone that removed theirs to install a lip. |

I also just read a few cases where the dealer was supposed to install the chin spoiler, but didn't for some reason. Thanks for the suggestion! I don't feel like paying for a brand new one, especially since they're prone to getting scraped. Last edited by Bullit79; 06-23-2013 at 11:40 PM. |
