No more Stillen Lip?
So I went to the Stillen site to see what kind of braces they were selling with the lip now. Not so I could buy from them, but so I could buy from someone else since they won't address the issue that so many of us are having.
Yes...I have a pouty lip. But, the only lip listed on their site is now a Seibon. Hmmm...Did they finally realize they had a problem & pull it? Anyway. Since mine is saggy now and I'm scared it will put so much downforce on the front of the car that it might rip it off, I guess I'll go the braces route. I prefer the cleaner look, but don't know what else to do since my underbrace idea didn't work. Any tips on braces? I do remember someone on here had done them - I'll just have to search & figure out who it was. |

I added braces to mine but it still started drooping, finally added thick piece of aluminum that is bolted to the braces and held on with 3M tape covering the whole piece. So far it is holding up great.

I used a 2-part epoxy & embedded the aluminum in it. Lasted about 6 months or so. I dunno. Maybe I need to rough it up more & try it again with some urethane glue.

Looked at mine again and the added downforce has now pulled it down enough that it upper part no longer sits flush against the bumper except in the corners. If it wasn't for the tape, there would be a gap in the center. And mine is thru-bolted with like 8 ss nuts / bolts / fender washers. Guess it's going to have to come off until I figure out a way to brace it. |

Not sure what you used to brace it, but don't use a piece of flat strap. Use something with an L shape or a U-channel so that you have vertical stiffness. Shouldn't take much.

It worked fine all summer, in 100+ degree temps, but fell off in the fall. Was hoping it would be ok without it. I didn't have any issues until it got to about 90 this summer. |

[QUOTE=scottIN;2367995]Oh-I think I used the term lip in my search & it took me somewhere else. My apologizes to Stillen for not being able to find their crappy product.
Happened to me too, took me awhile to find it haha |

Any pics of your setup? I am considering getting this lip in the next month and would like to prevent it from sagging without the support rods.
