Default OEM 100% leather seats??

Hey guys,

Just picked up my 2009 370z about a month ago.

It's a 2009 with sport, touring, and nav.

But the seats are not ventilated...in other words, they're 100% leather. They have the same stitching on the sides, back, and butt area, but do not have that center area that typically has suede/holes/(you know what I'm talking about).

At first, I thought it was an aftermarket addition. But the rest of the car was 100% stock, and everything is as it should be (regarding the nav, sport package, and touring package). So it doesn't make sense!

There's no way this guy bought a base, and then transformed the car into what it is... So could Nissan have put all-leather seats into a few of their earlier 2009 models before changing the seats??

Someone shed some light!

I can take pics if you guys need clarification; but it seriously is just 100% leather, instead of the typical 370Z seats you see in pics...

Thanks in advance!

Hmm If you're referring to the seat portion that only the driver has this center padding? Thats designed that way, And it's to help to keep the driver from sliding around.

And yes, it has that unique-to-driver's-seat center padding; but the whole seat is leather.

I have owned a 350z before; I know a decent amount about these cars, but this issue has me stumped.

What's the mileage? It could be that the oem had a rip or something, maybe worn down? And the previous owner put a new cover on it because its probably cheaper to get an aftermarket one. Only thing I can think of...

mileage is 52k miles. And trust me, if an aftermarket company made a seat cover that looked this identical to Nissan/Infiniti's stitch and seam pattern, they'd be sued for copyright infringement.

Driver's seat: you can see the unique driver's seat round stitch near the front (steering wheel edge) of the seat. But as stated before, the ENTIRE seat is leather!

Passenger seat: I tried to capture the stitching/seam pattern around the side side and back of the seat to show you how it matches all the other seat patterns in the 370z.

Third pic: just to show the power seat controls, and the heated seat switches.

So, if this guy replaced the stock seats with these, where could he have gotten them? It really doesn't make any sense. Even if he got them from Nissan, who knew Nissan made them this way? If they're aftermarket, then someone is really copying Nissan's design; and then he spent a lot of time to find seats that would fit in with the OEM seat brackets to accommodate the power seat switches.

I don't understand!

Wellp, look at my pics and lemme know what you think. Can't you normally tell if they're seat covers? I mean, there's no way these are seat covers. It would take a lot of convincing for me to accept that. Lol.

My Katzkin seat covers looked as good if not better than what you have~
I don't mean to be a prick.
And I have seen amazing custom leather jobs

After looking at Katzkin pics installed, there's always a bunch of bunching up in corner areas; and mine don't have any. Look at the passenger seat. It's completely smooth with no bunching up at all, period. The driver's seat might have a little bit for being sat in, but that's it. However, I guess if Katzkin is the only possibility, that's fine with me I suppose. I mean, these seats get hotter than my 350Z's heated seats did, and the all-leather is pretty cool. I guess. I suppose I'm just indifferent.

Also, Katzkin seat covers don't appear to make the compatibility for the power seat switches (at least from what I can tell on the Katzkin site. The Katzkin site also shows pics of it installed, with the material looking different than what I have, and with much more bunching up in corner areas.

Anyone else have any other hypotheses?

These look like they were done by a custom upholsterer.

Definitely NOT stock
