Yes it is slightly heavier than stock. I tried to do a psuedo paint booth in garage lol. Tried to be as pro as possible, lots of effort on prep. But the clear coat defeated me:facepalm:. I probably should of shot clear w/ a different gun/pressure...something. Heavy orange peel. I'm taking it somewhere this week. Don't have the energy for another round of painting and wetsanding/polishing. Will post pics as soon as its done.

looks really good man  I wanted to pull the trigger on this hood and was gonna post up first you beat me to it. Glad to know fitment was good, cause all ED stuff I have ever gotten has had slight issues.

thanks all. @Vichtz There are "slight" issues but overall fitment is great. The holes for the windshield sprayers are slightly off in size so doesn't hold them in very well. I'm going to look at it today and see what i can rig up. Should be easy to secure them....black duct tape if i have too ha. The stock hood brackets are kind of odd to me, there is no true adjustment. They do have play in them though so its a few rounds of , "ok lets pull it to the left some more and tighten it down." It wants to rub on the pillar if you don't get it perfect. I will probably drill out the bracket holes a little and give me some vertical play. But it lines up nice, the front latch bolts are lined up perfect, but probably need a spacer. Overall im still very pleased with the quality.

very good, that sounds like the one I had for my old mustang. Except mine didn't have windshield sprayer holes. Sounds like standard hood fitment fare though. Good luck man!

This hood looks great. I like the idea of fiberglass, being cheaper than carbon fiber, and the ease of color matching the paint. My only concern would be the side vents for someone with say K&N Typhoon intakes, as it appears the side vents, at least the closest to the front, would be directly over the air filters.
Rain issues?? Water dropping right down on the filters while the car isn't moving?? The only other hood I've seen with just the center vent in almost the identical position is the VIS style carbon fiber. But again i want to stick clear of carbon fiber. Any feedback on rain with this hood & typhoon intakes? Any alternative fiberglass hood with the just the same center vent? Looks good though!! |
