CarbonSignal Nismo Treat

So guys we got a Nismo with us and this thread will be updated as the parts are designed :tiphat:

Planning to do :

Rear Diffuser V1
Rear Diffuser V2
Rear spoiler
Side skirts
Front lip

The parts we have designed on papers are very subtle looking but will fill the gap of people looking for simple ad ons.

Car just came in

Taking spoiler and diffuser impressions

As its still in design process any positive or negative criticism is appreciated

Awesome

DarkJak 05-26-2013 04:07 AM

Will either of the diffusers be the style like the Top Secret 350Z diffuser, or will they both be strictly cosmetic, like the Evo-R one?

Either way, I'm excited to see what comes of this!

Not like Top secret it wont suit the nismo bumper and different kinds of exhaust people running. One design is very simple used to come in R33 & R34 and highly functional, the second is more like empty space filler bringing some aggressiveness to the rear bumper and also an option to install the fog light

Masterbeatty 05-26-2013 09:19 AM

If you are finally making a rear diffuser that's functional, that would be epic!

Glad to hear this, way over due!!!!! Please keep us and Me up to date!

cooltoy 05-26-2013 11:04 AM

Will the spoiler be an exact duplicate? Can you make it so it uses the sport package spoiler holes?

122554 05-26-2013 11:06 AM

So I'll be able to add a rear fog to my Nismo?

I'll be in Dubai on 04 July, want to see your shop!

And if anyone wants parts from them that I can carry on an airplane, just hit me up!

MJB 05-26-2013 11:45 AM

Awesome... I was thinking about getting the rear diffuser part on my Nismo wrapped, but now that this is in the works I think I'll put that on hold...

I guess it will be interesting what you come up with, but for those of us who want a nismo spoiler EV-R and Seibon are the only options.

As there are already good options from EVO-R and Seibon so we thought of something different, jut hoping it will be liked:icon17:

I like the idea of the diffuser. I am also digging the idea of adding the fog light to the NISMO as well.

Ok moved on the sides, tried to take some pictures but only coming out like this :shakes head:, diffuser and spoiler can be seen though.

Decide to offer the diffuser with fog light bracket and twin fins and triple fins without brake light:tup:

MJB 06-02-2013 12:53 AM

Tease! Man I want to see this without the foglight and triple fins!!

Tease will be there till we finish the items and they look good in pictures :icon18:

Personally I like triple fins, but the guy who gave the nismo wanted the fog so gotta do that first.

370ZNISMO#704 06-02-2013 01:45 AM

Yes finally!! In for more pics I have been waiting for a rear fog add on and did not want to buy a 2014 Nismo bumper. Thanks guys for not forgetting about us Nismo guys.

Functional means FEA and Wind Tunnel time. Not enough volumes to cover R&D cost in my opinion.

:iagree: never gonna happen.
Now MAYBE computer testing... But even then, it'll only be a theory

DarkJak 06-02-2013 03:54 AM

Where's CSI and their magical enchance when you need them?

Can't wait to see these done as well as the other, more functional diffuser.

Poor Man's Wind Tunnel

One trick to test the functionality of a rear diffuser is to wait for a day with heavy rain and have a friend drive your car and you follow in another vehicle. As you follow, take a look at other cars on the road and notice how rain is being dispersed behind them (better yet, have another 370Z without a diffuser drive along side of the 370Z with a diffuser). You will see most cars on the road have sprays emitting from the front and rear wheel wells (not very efficient). Also take a look at how rain flows from the rear of the cars.

A functional diffuser will create a substantial rooster tail and should completely eliminate rain escaping from the rear wheel wells. My diffuser creates such a rooster tail that most cars cannot drive behind me in the rain

http://www.the370z.com/members/resip...diffuser-1.jpg

I created it out of aluminum flashing, aluminum plate, fiberglass and lots of pop rivets.

Masterbeatty 06-04-2013 02:42 PM

Nice! I thought about making one myself but i have no engineering back round and i could probably make one that looks cool just not function very well. Good stuff. :tiphat:

I bet no one else knows why the hell your car sprays water up like a jetski. Probably thinks you're an *******. But we know.....you're a badass. It's easily the most functional looking diffuser I've seen on a 370Z.

Do you have issues with curbs and slopes with that?

CarbonSignal 06-05-2013 04:31 AM

Guys relax on functional, just see when its done, we have seen similar diffuser on some cars not one of those good looking one but they were functional so we are just to replicate the same design on 370z.

Some work in progress pictures not a great quality one, spoiler is done design wise and so is the diffuser with fog light, finial finishing then we will make the mould. We will have similar diffuser with triple fins but slightly more aggressive.

Spoiler, more like a add on will be offered in CF and FRP

Diffuser, some cutting will be required to fit the foglight in the bumper
