Ventureshield apparently had been bought out by 3M (or so my 3M supplier for BC says). Sounds like the new 3M product doesn't suck like the old orange peal stuff.... they also have various grades including a 14 or so mil for headlights...

I have the new 3M product, it is great and don't notice any orange peel.

thx for the responses, but does anyone have an answer to my question?

is "protection one" film the same as "ventureshield?"

in other words, are these films made by the same manufacturer?

I have never heard of Protection One. If it is a VentureShield film it will still be warranted by VentureShield no matter what they call it. I would ask to see some documentation from the installer to prove it is what they say it is.

Easy to confuse sometimes: 1) name of the company that is doing the install; 2) name of the company that made the film; 3) name of the company that made the pattern the film is being computer cut from. The film and pattern many times don't come from the same company, they can, but don't have to.
