hold the door pin switch down for installation...
Leave your window down a crack and it won't go up or down when you open the door. The installer should do this automatically.

Your tint installer should have a clip that presses the door button down so the window is fully up while they install the tint. That way, you won't have a problem with the auto up and down feature.
I had my tint installed a little over a month ago and I haven't had any problems with the tint yet.

You don't have to worry about the window going up and down a tad after the install is done if they install it correctly. ;-)

Like others said your installer should have a clip to use during installation...
My installer applied the tint far enough below the door trim that even if the window went up and down when the door opens/closes it would not catch the edge of the tint. He did my 05 350Z the same way and I had no issues at all for 4 years. good luck!

My installer put big stickers on each, essentially block out, window buttons saying that tint had been applied and that the windows shouldn't be rolled down for 72 hours.

With "freshly installed" tint, are there supposed to be small distortions?
I also noticed an area in the back that looks like the tint was crumpled... I haven't looked at it since I had it done Wednesday, so maybe that all cleared up - but, I also have a lifetime warranty, so if it's wrong, I'll make 'em fix it! |

Yes, it's water that's still beneath the film. Give it a good week of sunshine and it should be fine, then do a thorough inspection with a flashlight and bring it in to get them to take out any appalingly big air bubbles. Small ones are inevitable. Look closely to see if there are any hairs beneath your tint. You might notice some water bubbles, but give those a bit more time. It will eventually all smooth out.

But the common problem here isn't with people rolling the windows down. It's with the windows rolling themselves down when you open the door. |

Your tint installer should have applied the tint far enough down into the weather stripping to not cause any problems with the tint catching when the windows automatically roll up.

I had to get my driver's side retinted because the tint started peeling soon as I was allowed to reopen my window(1 week.) I don't know what the tint shop did but they pretty much baked the tint on to the window right on the spot so I was allowed to drive off with my window down. Don't know why they didn't do that the first time, more time consuming I suppose?
