VIS. Small gap on the front and thats it (which you can see in the picture). Fits almost OEM.

VIS is interesting, I know they used the same or similar process as Seibon because it is fairly cheap but not sure how they cut weight where Seibon weights more.
Now this is coming from users reporting how much X hood weights so need to find a hanging scale and get a few of the Seibon hoods & an OEM hood in Houston and weight them.

I checked out the link to the Seibon dry carbon hood. Its doesn't even say how much it weighs. (Unless I am missing something). I am guessing that at low of a price, that they are not using a very strong resin system.
Just because it it dry carbon, doesn't mean it is a strong epoxy pre-preg.
I'm not on here hating on carbon fiber hoods at all, I am just saying compared to a stock 370z hood, you might not get the weight savings you are expecting. The G37 might have a heavier steel hood.

As someone said Inifniti stock hoods are way heavier then the 370z stock one so some cars will see a difference in weight. When we did few 370z hoods the weight was almost close or less then normal Seibon/VIS hoods. These are not carbon hoods in all together two few layers of carbon and rest is fiber which makes these heavier then dry carbon. And if you get these painted they are on par with stock hood eight wise in inifiniti and heavier then stock Z

If main aim is cooling(looks) then its good else not much weight saving there

This is sick ...

Maybe it's just me, but I got the Seibon CF GTR style hood, and it feels significantly lighter than stock. Even now when I open it I feel like I can rip it completely off. LOL. (shrugs)

SgtGoldy 08-13-2013 02:09 AM

Speaking of ripping off the hood. I decided to do a quick "touchless" car wash at a gas station. Well I thought my hood was gonna rip off cause when the blowers hit my hood they went into the vents and started to cause it to wobble and bend a little. Scared the crap out of me... haha
