I dust and ICE (Turtle Wax product) every other day. I only wash if there is actual dirt adhered to the surface. Where I live that can be ~2 or 3 times a week. (automatic sprinklers in the mid-road islands which run at night cause streams in the road that I have to drive through in the morning)

I got white hoping that I wouldn't have to wash it as much as my black cars, it would be nice if people would stop touching my car, or if I didn't need to touch the hatch to close it.

but I tend to wash my car 1-2 times a month

I try to only wash mine when it needs done, and when the weather here looks good. It has to sit outside for the time being due to lack of a garage here sadly, so if I wash it before a good rain storm, its kinda pointless heh.

Florida_GATOR 07-24-2009 05:39 AM

Yea but you know as soon as you wash it...its going to rain. Never fails.

Last wash lasted 2 weeks until it rained the other day :). Been threatening to rain ever since, and finally came down pretty good last night :(

+1, I noticed some road-patina on my back bumper on my Z, and thought, maybe I should wash it.

Then I think, nah, it's OK for now.

Maybe in a week or two...or three...or four.

Heck, let the patina build up and maybe it'll help prevent chips ;)

Black car - say no more. :ugh:

Florida_GATOR 07-24-2009 02:02 PM

Yea, if you have a black car you HAVE to constantly wash that thing, and if you dont it looks really bad lol

bigaudiofanat 07-25-2009 12:11 AM

Not true the more you wait to wash your car the more dirt you are going to be draining around when you do wash it.

Nathan 07-25-2009 12:22 AM

Just curious...you guys who are talking about all the rock damage to the front of your cars and damage to the front bumper from driveways...what is going on? Where are you driving? I've had low sports cars for years at a time and never had as much damage as you are implying.
