I guess you could. I woudnt see why not, on the top i did 600g, up to a 1800g sand paper then a polish to make it silky smooth. Im also debating on putting a coat of wax to seal it but IDK. its a lot of work for minimal results.

usually you want to seal up the CF ends to prevent moisture to get in. in this case, clearcoat is one of the better approaches.
you can just get a duplicolor touchup bottle clearcoat and use that. |
I didn't do any clear coat. It was just 3 coats of the resin and after the last coat I sanded it down then using a polishing compound I used a machine to polish it to a shine. But now that kenchan brings up moisture I think I might seal it up now.

I haven't done it yet, I was just responding to Mr&Mrs. But yes, most resign will have UV protection in the resign so there is no need for clear coat. If you get all your materials and find out the UV protection isn't in the resign then you can us the clear coat. Clear coating CF Hoods, Wings CF Parts that are expose to sun 24/7 is always a good investment. Most companies us bare minimum when it comes to keeping down there cost to make the parts. Clear coat doesn't cost much and its insurance on your hard work.. :tiphat: |
