The problem is unless you wear gloves to open your car and/or are really meticulous day in and day out, painted door handles will not hold up very well long

I removed the handles today with the guy who was tinting my windows. Just follow the instructions posted by 209Z, it really is straight forward. Only points i would stress are: -Be very careful when removing the 2 screws behind the 2 rubber grommets, because they will fall into the door if you arent, then youll have to remove the whole door panel (which isnt too hard, but more of a headache). We used one of those pointer magnets to pull out the screws once they were unscrewed. When puttings these screws back in when all is odne, i tied dental floss to them in case they fell while screwing them in. -When all screws are out, gently wiggle the handle to get it out of the door, its not crazy glued in, but its not going to just slide out easily. be gentle -When removing the two screw attaching the wires to the unlock button, be careful with the back part of the handle not to scratch your door. Would be best if you had a friend to help you hold it while you unscrew.... They did put locktite onto these two screws which makes it hard to unscrew them! Quote:
