Check here for a DIY thread on putting mesh behind the stock grill, and later in that thread a link to Spohn's setup that I also copied: Nissan Mesh Grill

Wow! Thanks, wstar!

The DIY leads me to customcargrills.com which I have been looking for.

Some of us put an FMIC behind it

Some cut it out. I've only enlarged the fang opening and left the grill alone. Keen eyes notice what's behind it.

However, I really want a larger vent cutout where the front license plate should be.

You will have to "brighten" up the image. Basically there's an additional 1" of plastic after removing the fang cover. I Dremel the section off, so the mod doesn't make the bumper look silly. I've always wanted some sort of CF duct where the front license plate would be, or something similar to the Evo. It's there, but doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.

I did this mod for about $7 not including paint. I have not yet cut out the plastic, however. I just need to grow a pair

Official Cheap Mod Thread There is also a link to my album in this post.
