The hose clamp that comes with it is too small. I got a 4" hose clamp and it fits great on my RobiSpec bar.

Sorry, thought you were talking about the DIY mount.

I used the 3" one with my RobiSpec bar. Works great. I had most of the parts laying around, except I used a cap on the camera end. image.jpg

I'm using the Ram mount. The hose clamp that came with it wasn't big enough.

Looks good man! Did you use my method to build this?

Ok thanks! Did you just buy the 4" hose clamp from HomeDepo?
Is that what we call that OE rear strut bar=RobiSpec Bar? or this is entirely a different modified strut bar?

I got the hose clamp from work. It's just your standard hose clamp.

I don't have the stock strut-cross bar in my Z. I have the RobiSpec harness bar.

Just made your mount and it works great. It looks so flimsy with how long the PVC pipe is, but you can't argue with the results. My Nismo is as bumpy as they get and it stays in place with stable video.

6 trackdays and some bumpy roads around here. I've had no problems with the mount. Even used it on my Power Wagon for some off-roading.

This works pretty good for me. It is an inch wide steel bar screwed into a
piece of square tubing and bent to the proper angle.

Thanks for the DIY Ak. I've been experimenting with different mount points inside the car. The expectation is to capture the drivers actions & gauges as well as the exterior view. Your option gave me some ideas, with some small modifications for my goals.

I've been using RAM mounts for all my cameras. I picked up from Amazon;
- a skeleton case for the GoPro to connect either an external mic or charge the camera for $22.00, and
- Mfr. P/N Description Price
B0074WMQLS RAM Mount Plastic Medium Arm B-Sock $10.99
B001ES5D5Y RAM Mount 1.75 inch Long Double $13.99
B009GLW1PG RAM Mount Female 0.25-20 Thread Hex $7.49
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Item Total: $32.47
Shipping: $0.00
Subtotal: $32.47
Tax: $0.00
Total: $32.47

I've only used it on one cruise so far and am happy with the results. Camera placement will have to be fine tuned, but only a matter of time until the optimum spot is achieved.

Thanks again.

I have a track day coming up in early August at Mosport and my son and I were determined to get my GoPro into the action. Thank you AK370Z for this awesome idea! I used slightly different parts but the concept is virtually identical. I haven't yet glued or painted the mount but any skepticism we had about the basic design have disappeared after this test fit in the car. This is a really solid mount!
