Strap wrench on the knob, use a rag for protection, vise grips to hold the shifter under the shifter boot. NOPE vise grip will slip and cause scratches and miring.

NOPE vise grip will slip and cause scratches and miring. The best method I came across was 2 strap wrenches. 1 on the knob 1 on the shaft. Home Depo is the place to go for the wrenches. 6$ husky strap wrenches and if you open the package correctly you can return them when you’re done. ![]() |
