2013 LED DRL Mod

So hooked up my car to the Consult 3 plus today and there is no option to adjust the DRL function. Does anyone have the mod figured out to have the DRL's on all the time and not shut off when the lights are turned on? Looks like I am going to have to do some wiring, just am not sure what the best plan of attack is.

easy find a constant power wire run it to a switch in the cabin (at your choice for location) then off that run a wire to both of the LEDs attaching to the LEDs power wire. you now control the LEDs with the switch. :ugh2:

It is controlled by the IPDM ground side so if you were going to do that route you would have to do a ground side switch not 12V. I am going to do a bit more digging on Nissan Assist it looks like there is more on the LED circuit since it has a 15amp fuse.

It can be done though

Same here!

Newbie here, Just bought a 2013 370z - black. I would love to be able run the headlights AND the DRL at the same time.

Thanks, Rob

I was hoping this mod would be putting missle launchers or machine guns in place of the DRLs.

I have wanted to remove the DRL and use the open slot for brake cooling scoops. Just need the ambition to begin!

Anybody?

Anybody figure out how this can be done or do I have to take her to a custom shop? Thx

I just removed both LED's on my '13.....

I can tell you that the plugs have two wires each, and both plugs (Not the lites, just the plugs) are easily accessible simply by removing the plastic rivet
at the upper side of the wheelwell. (See pic) Then peel the wheelwell plastic from behind the bumper skin so you can get your hand in there.

The driver side plug is attached onto the DRL itself, the passenger plug is attached away from the DRL on a metal clip. (This is because the washer bottle hides the passenger side DRL).:hello:

Anyone understand this post? I'd also like DRL on during the day and stay on with the headlights without installing a switch by them selves.

I thought it would be cool to have them on at night as well until I actually turned them on outside in a parking lot at night and took a look at them from a distance. God damn were they bright and blinding. I'm pretty sure you'd get pulled over by the first cop you pass.

I'm no electrical expert but what about a relay supplying earth to power the DRL's that's triggered by the park lights..?

KXK-2013 07-16-2013 10:45 PM

Done!

While I was having an after market audio system installed (Kenwood 7" touch screen, Rockford-Fosgate speaker and amp) I mentioned to the installers about how I would like to have the DRL on when the heads are on.

One immediately started looking at that DRL issue and the other guy kept pounding out the audio installed. At the end of the day I had a full audio system installed AND... they the DLR's now stay on!

Works just like it did in auto mode but when it gets dark the heads come on and the DLR's stay on. Only $150 extra and they wired it perfect/clean.

No codes, errors, nothing. Best part was they didn't take apart the front of the car.

If you're in the Chicago burbs check out:

If you guys want to do this yourself and save some money I did DIY for the LED Mod. It is very simple and only takes about 1 1/2 hors to do.. It is circuit safe and also if your in PA it will pass inspection being that I wired it to shut off with high beams. If your laws in your state are different let me know and I can email you a different wire diagram to have them on or off in different ways so you can pass inspection..

here is the link. http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...mod-video.html

Limeybastard 10-15-2014 02:58 PM

Anyone wire it up so that the DRL comes on with parking light and also stay on with main beams. ?
