lol..that's still 700 less than 2000. And it's not going to cost 700 to paint a front bumper.

I mean maybe I'm looking at it wrong. I'm looking at it in terms of efficiency. If I can achieve the same look/performance for cheaper, that's the way I'm going to go.

My car doesn't have the OEM Nismo bumper..but it's damn close. And my whole kit fit perfect for 1900 including price of the entire kit, fitment and paint and installation. Maybe that extra money is just for piece of mind...

But you said it yourself, you do not have a front bumper that is equal to the Nismo OEM front so of course yours will be cheaper. I had my rear bumper replaced to the Nismo OEM, paint cost $600 but this was all done via insurance (lady hit me) so I did not care.

I will just say it again, quality comes at a cost. You did not get an exact OEM Nismo front so it is cheaper, I bet you had fitment issues so lower cost, did it bolt up to the coupe undertray?

That is one major cost for the Nismo front bumper. The OEM Nismo undertray is $1500 (this is just Nissan being stupid), but there is a good alternative at a higher quality for $500 but cost of front bumper plus this undertray needed adds up.
gurneyeagle and cor240sx90 like this.

Right. But the quality from what you're saying comes from the fitment. Yes an OEM bumper will line up perfectly but if I can get my cheaper bumper to do the same then it levels out in terms of quality.

If you're talking about quality in terms of taking damage I'm pretty sure that the OEM bumper will be destroyed in any significant impact, just as mine would.

No, my bumper didn't line up with the undertray. However, it didn't cost 1500 to make it do so either. And I agree that prices add up.. but damn. It parts alone are costing almost $2000 and I can get a kit completely installed for $1900 I'm always going to go that route.

I guess I'm saying I prefer an experienced/user friendly shop over everything.

yeah, its not the "fitting" part, its the damn facia pieces. Nissan definitely made a point of not wanting everyone just to hop on the Nismo body pieces to upgrade their cars. This is a huge thing on the G37 side and adding the Aero/IPL kit to sport/base models with a direct swap.

Parts, paint and labor was under $2k. That does NOT include the Zspeed under tray added later. Even if I hadn't done the conversion, I would have gotten a the regular ZSpeed under tray.

I don't know if you take your bodywork to Abra or what, but I spent $700 for my G37 front to get stripped, and repainted and buffed out. My body guy knows how maticulat I am when I comes to the condition of my paint. Its been said in this thread before...but you PAY for what you GET.

yes, you purchased a knock off kit and you say "its almost like a Nismo", but really, its not even close to the Nismo front. Yours is most likely fiberglass, it is more bulky and different body lines.

Everyone is entitled to their own modding tastes, and all have their own opinions. If we weren't, all of our cars would look the exact same.

It's not $2,000 for a bumper. It's more like $1,300 for all the parts plus paint/install.

See here for parts list and prices:

That's wayyyyyyyyyyyyy more reasonable... I've seen your thread on the conversion and it made sense. When I saw this one and it said 2000-2500 I was like nahhh that's ridiculous.

BTW your thread alone had me fighting with myself about converting mine. I can thank your thread for many sleepless nights and countless hours in front of a computer. LOL

Excellent work and beautiful car.

Remember that it includes parts you don't HAVE to have in order to make the bumper fit (ie. undershroud + side seals + harness)

If you just want the bumper and the under facia, OEM would cost around $1200.

Again, quality comes at price. It might look the same but fit and finish is definitely different if you are comparing OEM vs. aftermarket. Even with high quality, over priced Japanese developed kits, OEM always feels better and fits better.
