yah, best that you do for sure. unplug it, step on brake pedal for 15sec.

Yes.
Since it is so readily available on this site, check out the FSM warnings and special procedures for working with/around air bags. It could save you a lot of money. And you might poke your eye out.

Edit: If the 2011 FSM is not avail, the procedures will be the same in the 2009-2010 versions.
