That's too bad. Bad luck.

cqnguye1 02-28-2013 05:33 PM

what insurance company do you have? i have called around a few places like ray brant collision and california custom, and they would sound like they want to go ahead and schedule me an appointment for an estimate until they ask what insurance i have and whether or not i have a claim. i tell them allstate and as soon as they hear allstate, they tell me i have to get allstate to give me an estimate first.

i haven't even had the car long enough to do an oil change, and to have the whole car torn apart to have some dents fix just don't feel right for me.

I have state farm insurance. I'm getting an estimate from state farm first and then I'm going to take to X-A-Dent in Metarie. Are you from the westbank area?

cqnguye1 03-01-2013 12:50 AM

yea im from gretna. im scheduled for an estimate on tuesday too, so ill see how that goes.

this lady that work with me have a 2010 or 2011 Dodge Charger, and she brought it to ray brant collision. they estimated $16K to repair it, so her insurance totaled her car.

i've been hearing estimates as low as a few thousand to more than $10K from people, so i dont know what to expect.

DEpointfive0 03-01-2013 01:05 AM

I think anyone with hail damage should take a hammer to their car and total it at that point... Lol
Just buy another one after. Especially if you get screwed with the deductible... Might as well get your money's worth

axmea? 03-01-2013 02:58 AM

I've already come to the realization a long time ago that you take you car to the dealer at your own risk. In the end, they're there to make money and minimize loss/expenses. They'll fight to protect they're margins no matter what. They'll give and take here and there but they're around to take your money and not give them away in the long run. It is what it is.

Good luck with your repairs and hope it's done quickly so you can enjoy it again.

TonySlimfast 03-01-2013 03:44 PM

you in the marrero area of new orleans?

RoshDawg 03-02-2013 05:03 PM

Man if I were you I'd file a lawsuit immediately.

tjlazer 03-02-2013 05:39 PM

Lawsuit? That seems excessive. Just pay the $500 and move on with your life. Can't really blame the dealership for hail damage.

Cmike2780 03-04-2013 11:07 AM

OP, this guy knows how you feel....

RoshDawg 03-04-2013 12:17 PM

I hope your insurance premiums don't go up because of this, you never know with some companies. I'm surprised your insurance company isn't suing the dealership (thats what I meant by lawsuit). Normally thats what happens as insurance would much rather have someone else pay for those damages..

MB370Z 03-05-2013 01:54 PM

Just got back from the insurance adjuster and they cut me a check for $6989. Dude told me the hood, roof and trunk will have to be replaced and the fenders, doors and panels will be PDR.

I'm no expert but $6989 seems kinda low to get the hood, roof and trunk replaced and painted plus both doors, both front fenders and both rear panels PDR.

I'm taking my Z to the most expensive body shop and these god damn slack jawed faggots better pay it full

Ew... $3100?!?!?! What the fúck have they been smoking?!?!?!
I'd go back and tell them to fück off... Give them the keys to the car and tell them to get it fixed for $3100

cqnguye1 03-05-2013 05:46 PM

hey mb370z, let me know what shop u bring ur car to and how much they want for fixing it.

i already know allstate was going to give me a low estimate. every shop i called, as soon as they hear i have allstate, they dont want to give me an estimate until i get one from allstate.

i saw a sign outside a dealership that say "hail damage repair, FREE ESTIMATE", and i called them up. i told them i have allstate and guess what... i didnt get an estimate. lol

I'm going to try X-A-Dent and Ray Brandt Collision on Thursday. I'll let you know. I can't believe they only gave you $3100. Now I feel like a jackass for complaining about mine.

Hey cqnguye1, I just got back from Ray Brandt Collision and they said they work with the insurance company estimates. Everything fix including new hood, roof and trunk with fresh paint with the check I got from State Farm. You should probably go there also and maybe you will get the same thing done.

DO NOT take it to X-A-Dent. Them slack jawed faggots are unprofessional. Dumb **** gave me an attitude and told me to come back in an hour as soon as I walked in.

Do you drive a red Z? I saw a red going down 5th street around noon while I was at Ray Brandt Collision.

Quick370z 03-07-2013 02:49 PM

I'm no adjuster but when more than 75% of a vehicle is covered like that isnt that like a write off?

that sucks though man..

tommyguns 03-07-2013 02:56 PM

How the hell could they think $3,100.00 would be enough. Come on really, removal, install, paint, plus all that PDR. That's a bunch of sh!t. Just be careful, you get what you pay for. I would go straight back to them, show them the pictures of MB370Z, which I assume has the same amount of damage as yours and have them explain how one cost $xxxx and another $xxx. Either way, that's more then $3,100 worth of damage. On another note, while my car was at the dealer they dinged the front fender right on the crease line. They brought in the PDR and all was fine. Just keep in mind, you can see the repair if you know where to look, I just can't imagine them having to do that much. Good luck, I feel your pain, both of you.

It really depends what the scenario is.

lol yea i was there right before you i think, if yours is the blue z with some rims i saw pulled up right when i left. i went to california custom and ray brandt collision. both places, the people i spoke to are all very professional.

california custom said my estimate is a bit lower than what they would need, but they would have to call allstate for a supplement. ray brandt collision said the same thing, they try to work with what the estimate is. the guy i talked to was really cool. he even walked me to the back of the shop where one of the PDR guy was working on a black 370z. i saw the way they work, and it seems like they are true pro and do a really nice job.

because there is 0% financing on new 2013 370z within this month, if anybody wants to buy my Z i will sell it. 2012 solid red with 8000 miles $27,000. i bought it back in DEC for around $31K. depend on how good of a deal i can get on a new one, after contacting around, i will lower the price even more. tell anyone u know that wants a 370z, mb370z.

Wow! I wouldnt know what to do without my car for that long... It would be like going through a bad breakup.

cqnguye1 03-08-2013 10:30 PM

mb370, i was trying to find a used oem solid red hood, but i found a blue one. lol
might look better and cheaper than having a new one painted to match.

I was supposed to be in Terrytown that day to visit family but decided to stay my butt at my apartment in Gonzales. Best decision I have made so far lol. The mom's Tacoma was tattered in hail spots

MidnightRider 03-11-2013 12:54 PM

That is a ton of damage. If you had it by Ray Brandt they should take care of you. They replaced my entire windshield after I found that one of the windshield wipers was bent and was etching my glass....not a happy camper after dishing out that kind of money.

Damn, another Monterey Blue Z on the Westbank? I never seen you around.

I didn't have any choice since my car was towed to the dealership on Friday and the hail storm hit on Sunday night than I received a call from the dealer my car is ready to be picked up on Monday but oh BTW, your car was damaged during the hail storm.

My car is dirty as fck right now and I don't have any motivation to wash it with all the damn dents in it

Lol yeah I have had my Z since February of 2010 from Ray Brandt. I used to work for the Target on Manhattan but got a better job opportunity up in Baton Rouge. Born and raised on the Westbank ;-).

I'm pretty quiet on the forums but I have only seen one other MB running around while I pass by from time to time so I guess that would of had to be you lol.
