Nismo body kit for stock 370
Ok so I'm picking up my new coupe today. I want to put a complete ground effects and spoiler on it right away. Like the look of the Nismo kit and the dealer said he sell me everything to do that for 3 grand. I fell more in love with another online kit (Duraflex N-1) It's made out of a flexible plastic/fiberglass materal. I bought this car to race SCCA and have a tendency to bang lower farings up a bit pushing myself and cars. Was thinking this material might be more forgiving. There is a video here about the material and a pic of the kit.....
DURAFLEX® - Nissan 370Z N-1 Body Kit Any of you boys have any experience with this product or have comments on the nismo kit? Next is exhaust, turbocharger, and tires. Be back to discuss that in other sections once I get this decided. Last edited by Scubasubiker; 02-12-2013 at 02:21 PM. Reason: typo |

Ive had a Duraflex bumper before. This is a cheap company which many have had problems with whether it be with sales or fitment like I have. I personally had to sand the bumper down in areas to get it to fit it on my 240sx so its not a install and go situation. Its also weaker material so if you bang your car at track events it will crack. This Duraflex is actually a knockoff of the Nismo S-tune addons for the base 370's. If you want better material, go with the Nismo version but its probably fiberglass and may crack as well.

Don't go with duraflex anything, it's cheap and low quality and you will spend a ton of money getting it to fit well and still won't be happy. I would get the nismo conversion kit from your dealer or from Z1 motorsports which will bring everything you need, or just go with another front bumper like stillen.

OP, not sure if you know but the dealer is probably talking about the Nismo S-tune body kit. Not sure if that is the one you are talking about. The OEM Nismo kit is going to cost way more than 3 grand for everything

I bought the Veilside V3 duraflex knockoff for my 350z. Horrible...horrible idea. The fitment was pathetic...to say the least. I vouch with what these other guys are saying. Go with OEM if you want the best results or a better reputable manufacturer. You could always get a carbon fiber lip kit. Less work, less money, and less pain in the ***. Well most of the time. But if you go with Duraflex, you will be disappointed. Good luck!

MJB...yes I am aware.
Not too concerned with sanding, time, effort, fit. Body work is fun. My folks build kit cars in their retirement so I pretty much have a body shop and paint booth at my disposal. I am used to working with fiberglass, so I'd also have to figure out how to repair this material if I went with it. My vet buddies agree with you guys that duraflex is crap but want more opinions. My concern is durability. I'm rough on anything with wheels. |

Duraflex = Cheap Sh**! If it were me I would get and authentic Powerhouse AMUSE kit, with that said its your car do what you want.

Stillen front bumper is urethane which is flexible and extremely durable, it won't crack like fiberglass.. I hAve one and I couldn't reccomend it enough. It Also helps with cooling and for better Airflow if you have an oil cooler and/or cold air intakes like stillen gen 3

LOL! Sounds like my first sport bike. I crashed it so many times I had zipties holding stuff together too...that and duct tape! Finally I just gave up and rode it without half the plastics. So drifting huh? That's a blast. My dad had me practicing that when i was 14, but I can't say I ever perfected it. Got out of racing for a while and I know better than to take advantage of roundabouts...being female has it's advantages with speeding, but that one even girls get nailed for. I'll have to pit in the racing threads here. I'm leaning towards OEM or Stillin. OEM will probably win since I have a thing for "fangs" Ha! (Don't you all run me outta here yet over that one)

Have you seen the sunline kit? It may spike your interest. I have the full lip kit and really like it, if you were to get the ACTUAL Nismo bumpers that would be nice, but the Nismo S-tune does not look as good IMO. No experience with the Duraflex.
Here is my lip kit that many vendors offer replicas of as well if your looking for cheaper alternatives ImageUploadedByTapatalk1360720352.033956.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1360720360.599551.jpg

Nice front and back effects, but doesn't turn me on like the stillin front facia dual air ducts. Love the blue tho. Almost went with it, but I'm a red girl. Somehow every damn vehicle ends up being red! Even my fleet trucks seem to be red...it's a sickness.

No I'm with you on the stillen, very aggressive as well as functional, unfortunately I don't think it flows with the blue as well or I probably would have gotten that one.
That paired with the Nismo rear bumper I think would be awesome, as it has ducts for cooling as well, haven't really seen any with that set up before.
