Silver fangs?
I really love the look of painted fangs! However, almost all the photos I see are of black painted fangs. I own a black cherry and was thinking silver fangs would look good so I did a quick photoshop job of a picture of my car (door handle paint match is photoshop too). What do you guys think? Can anyone else share photos of silver (or anything other than black) fangs? I'd like to see some real examples. Thanks in advance! :tiphat:

Primarily everyone without a black colored Z use the black as an accent color
since you have an already black Z? That won't apply and so trying another color will look kinda weird, But If you like it? who cares |
if i were you id get that carbon fiber fang cover by evo-r i think

Maybe if your door handles weren't painted, I dunno. Not completely wild about it, but I don't hate it either. As trips said though, it's whatever floats your boat that matters.

I think that looks awesome! Just put a black decal on the fangs to offset it a bit. I would personally do white. Then again I'm pretty out there with car aesthetics.
|
I've also seen partially painted Fangs which don't look to bad imo. Not sure how this would work out on a black car though.

No. Not a fan of the daytime running lights to say the least. But the partially blacked out fangs are something i've never seen before. I prefer mine all black, but it's a nice alternative imo.

Because you have a roadster too!!! (But I thought .de isn't for Switzerland, you guys use .ch) This car you're posting is HIDEOUS, the lights are TERRIBLE... Yeah partially blacked out is unique, not the worst thing I have seen, but definitely not the best thing I have seen either |
I had this done when I had the stock bumper. painted it to match the door handles.

Nice Kellyefields! See, I like that. The black lettering is a good idea too. Thanks for sharing! I knew I wasn't the only person to have thought about doin this color scheme. Anyone else have more pics?

I was going to say leave the door handles silver and match the fangs to the door handle to be consistent. It's different, but interesting.
|
I just painted my fangs silver last night. Once I throw the bumper, I will take a couple photos for you. Should be tonight or tomorrow when I get it back on.
In the mean time, this is how it turned out. Silver on black. Excuse the poor lighting. http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...F52C82F335.jpg |
I want to do a gunmetal with mine. Black Z's are much harder to find a good contrasting color without it looking silly. I think silver is a safe bet.
|
Looks good Spikuh! Definitely interested in seeing it on the car. And for the record my handles are still silver. Just photoshopped them painted as I was trying out different things.

if anyone with a black z has a few different colors of plasti-dip laying around it'd be nice to see some different options without having to make it permanent.
|
how about photochop. do everything from your seat. control-z undo's.

Coloring is a bit lighter than I wanted, but overall I am still happy with it. |

Looks good Spikuh! Definitely something I may do this spring or summer.

i think red would look good to. a can of the plastic dip in red would be easy to do.
|
Black looks alot better.

I am liking that CF overlay. I think that would look good on my Gun Metal Z.

Black cherry isn't black. You'd still have a contrast if you made the fangs (and, say, the exhaust cutout) black.
To me, the silver won't work because there will be no other silver accents to balance it. You'd have to get it to match the door handles to work. In the immortal words of Mick Jagger, paint it black. |

I think you are going the wrong way with this one. Adding accents just to add them isn't always the best move. This kind of reminds me of a 70's tu-tone paint job. Hit the area with some Plast-Dip, and the contrast will be very apparent. |
