I intend to paint it whichever black first for the grill and then my body color (magnetic black) for the bumper. Then I'm going to do a wrap. So you're saying rock chips still tore up your clear bra in the grill area? wow

Yes it'll be slightly cheaper, I've also found some really good deal on my parts so I don't think we can use my cost as a benchmark.

They told me they always paint the whole bumper first, then paint the grill area black! But they forgot to paint it in my case too and I pointed it out they painted it black. A few months later it was chipping and I could see blue specs all over! I have to repaint it sometime, going to do it myself...

Do we have an official part list for the full swap? Truly trying to decide if I want to purchase a Nismo, or just purchase a sport and do this swap.

Its hard to justify a Nismo knowing I'll be swapping wheels, exhaust, and eventually retuning. The Nismo upgrades are just Body, wheels and exhaust/tune right?

just get a nismo up front, by the time you swap everything, it'll cost too much.

Currently my car's at the shop getting a paint job. I'm painting the whole car again and then get a clear bra. stay tuned.

Nismo wheels usually fetch you 1k more than sports wheels. Stock nismo goes for 500 usually, while stock goes for 200. And nismo's have the different stitching.

I'd just go for the Nismo if that's the look you want.

Pretty much... In my opinion I think purchasing the Nismo is a waste of money. No offense to actual owners of the Nismo, because I definitely intended to get one.. But look at what you're getting for the extra money. You're spending pretty much an extra what, 6-8k for an exhaust a bodykit and a tune. C'mon... I spent 700 on a kit that looks almost identical if not better than the Nismo kit and I purchased an intake an exhaust for wayyyy less than the 5.3k. LOL You do the math man.

Real aerodynamics, Yamaha tuned body dampers, springs and dampers, stiffened front chassis bar, sway bars front and rear, wider forged wheels (and tires), tune, exhaust, red stitching on everything, embroidery, tach, individual build number, better resale value, special treatment at the dealership, exclusivity, status symbol, etc

There is a reason people try to copy it and desire the badge.

You can get real aerodynamics from a number of other body kits. And all the other parts you can acquire on your own of possibly better quality. I can understand the status symbol... but let's be honest it's still a Z. A slightly better Z than the sport package one, but a Z nontheless. And I'm not exactly sure if you can speak for every dealer when it comes to special treatment.

Getting a Nismo is kind of like getting a special edition Scion. Yeah...you can say you're one of the few that got it...but in the end you're still driving a scion. And in no way am I comparing the performance of a Nismo to a Scion....like I said I was in the market for one until I found out exactly what it was I'd be paying extra for.

Judging from what I've seen on this site alone, most people end up changing half the stuff you mentioned anyway...

All I'm saying is if he isn't absolutely in love with the Nismo and doesn't plan on changing anything on it... then there's no actual need to spend the extra money and get it.

If he's going to get wheels/coilovers/bodykit/exhaust/seats/ or anything else that sets the Nismo apart from a Sport or Touring then he might as well just convert rather than purchase a Nismo... because he's just going to change everything that made it a Nismo other than the build number and badges.
