Any ideas to eliminate squeak in hatch ????

They are coated in a special grease to keep it from squeeking. Any chance you really really really cleaned your car and wiped all those down with a degreasing agent? That might have done it. But I doubt it unless you really went over it well because that grease is tough to just wipe away. It also keeps the rubber from cracking in real cold weather. You see older cars with cracked mouldings because the grease over the corse of years and years fades. I'm not sure I might be wrong. It then again might be one of those things you cant get rid of kind of like the natural sound of any other part of your Z.

I havn't done any cleaning. Just to clarify, the noise is not coming from the hatch itself, but the hard plastic lip that the hatch rests on when closed.

You have 2 options - dismantle it yourself and either use grease or a bit of packing material, whichever seems appropriate, or take it to the dealer (it will be covered under warranty). Personally, if I were to take it to the dealer I'd take photos first, in case they scratch or damage any paint or plastic trim - they do things like that.

Before doing anything Id study it a little more and then make a decesion if you or the dealer should handle the problem. If you try something then take it to the dealer and they brake something they can blame it on you.
