custom hood from aerojacket

XwChriswX 02-07-2013 12:47 PM

It is a one off hood that was designed by Isamu I believe.

DEpointfive0 02-07-2013 12:48 PM

I'll ask the owner

Gauge 02-07-2013 12:50 PM

Just got aerojackets vented fenders off another member, I'm trying to find a hood that blends with its style, but still has an aggressive look.

I like this one a lot but the other options were the
VIS Terminator hood
http://www.370ztuner.com/contents/me...02dtm-010c.jpg

and the AMS VIS
http://www.370ztuner.com/contents/me...ber-hood-2.jpg

I wonder if aerojacket would do one of these for me.

It is a sexy hood. I also like that Amuse vented bonnet... But dry carbon fiber, import fees and Amuse price make it astronomically expensive.

I know someone who is in the market to sell an Authentic Amuse kit that already has it here in the states, though it isn't CF...

I don't need carbon fiber, I'd prefer to paint it anyways. the dry carbon fiber one was $6500.

They'll be red when you get them, so long as you don't mind stripping/repainting, I can PM you the info?

Negative. :(

As far as I know that is a One off piece, no others have been made.

Will do. :tiphat:

TenaciousZ 02-07-2013 03:59 PM

IMO this is the way to go. Simple but mean.

You can also just buy the gtr hood vents and put them where ever you want on the hood.

Custom hood. Aerojacket didn't make it.

That's what Isamu told me.

I'm interested in the hood as well but nobody is making it. :shakes head:

What about this one as an alternative? SEIBON VSII Style to be exact.

I had inquired about that very hood that we are all drooling over, but there seemed to be some issues with the designer and the production provider. I didn't get into it too deep, but I was very active in pursuing this item while I worked my initial build. I will make another attempt later on this year (probably the Fall/Winter), when I build my motor and pursue a few minor cosmetic/interior upgrades. Otherwise, it will be the SEIBON unit for me.

Thanks! :tiphat:

I was thinking about that hood too but am a little concerned about the fit. I've seen both good and bad from them. No different from any company that makes this type of stuff though.

The hood on the blue Z would be relatively easy to recreate if you know someone with good metal skills.

It sounds like we are on similar upgrade paths.

SS_Firehawk 02-10-2013 12:45 PM

I'm a big fan of Carbon Signals hood cutouts they are/were selling. the VIS version is too square and I didn't feel flowed well with the car's lines.

That's wassup! I do have 2 distractors though. I need to refresh the Tahoe which shouldn't take much more than a 100k maintenance, an interior job, and a good wetsanding/buffing. The main one is the dang kit that F.I. just blasted all over the net. If I can resist Tony's "voodoo", my car should be finished (for the time being) early next year.

I've had my issues with Carbon Signal... I do like their vents but would rather keep my hood stock than give them more money.

Isamu said he would make the hood for me, maybe we can make a group build? He verified for me that he designed the hood.

SS_Firehawk 02-10-2013 05:28 PM

I'd be in that in a heart beat

Kingbaby 02-10-2013 05:31 PM

it's very s chassis that hood is!

I like

bullitt5897 02-10-2013 06:04 PM

Isamu Did a design similar to when that hood was being built. The hood is a Modified OEM hood we were going to bring to market. However due to price and desire for the hood we didnt make molds. The price to market was going to be close to $1000/hood at our prices back then. I am still searching for a good manufacturer for UAM to bring more products to market. Its been tough finding someone reliable and inexpensive lol its like the two dont go together...

SS_Firehawk 02-10-2013 06:10 PM

Yeah, hard to compromise without affecting the other.

So we have 3 guys who want this hood. Hopefully we can make it happen.

TerribleONE 02-10-2013 08:38 PM

id take one as well if the price is right

Thats been the problem... what do you guys consider the right price?

SS_Firehawk 02-10-2013 08:43 PM

I would be fine spending $800-$1,000 primed and ready to paint.

That depends on the quality and fit.

bullitt5897 02-10-2013 09:39 PM

OEM fit and finish is what i am looking at...

Gauge 02-11-2013 03:34 PM

I think I would spend that for such an exclusive item as well. I think if you could just make them in CF from a mold you could move product. It's an excellent design which I think flows best of all hoods with the vented fenders.

But yea for that price I would expect the very best quality, like immaculate. Perfect cuts etc.

Isamu quoted me 700 + shipping to and from. This doesn't include paint and you use your own hood.

Also your website takes me to a turbo tax website.
