Man its a shame your going to cover all that beautiful red cf with paint. Maybe paint is like Tonys hood but with your cars color red? That would be different and look pretty good I think.

Shoulda left the vents in that unique red CF..

Problem was it looked pink compared to the Nissan red. And I have a black CF body and spoiler kit so it clashed. Believe me it took everything in me to try and like it, last thing I wanted was to paint a 3k hood.

THAT IS A BEAUTIFUL HOOD!!!!

i really want to buy the varis hood just like this but .... should i be worried if i have a SRI K&N Typhoon intake (filters pretty much wide open in bay) in terms of heavy rain and whatnot that I get every now and then here in South Carolina?

nope... no need at all... fitment is dead on... and you use factory latches.... secures real nice.

here is a pic of the underside...

and if you wanna open the rain gutter compartments for a track day you absolutely can  4 bolts hold each compartment in place

They are blocking plates, they can be removed easily.

Just trying to understand this, So the vents don't do anything when the blocking plates are on?

theDreamer 08-09-2013 03:02 PM

Basically yes, I mean there is probably some natural heat that comes through to help but not as much as if the plates are off.
Though the plates do stop water from coming in though.

simota1 08-09-2013 04:31 PM

i would say when the plates are on it pretty much doesnt do anything.... it rains almost everyday here... and weather on guam is very bi polar.... so its sunny then all of a sudden its raining cats and dogs.... but i assume you guys can run the plates off in the states, much better weather than here.... they take about 5 mins to put on or take off.. really easy i promise.... on top of that i would say the varis hood has more clearance in the hood latch area... my oem hood would rub like crazy on my password jdm covers... it clears now.... so i would say there is about 1/4 to may 3/8 more clearance than the oem hood in that region so i would think that more air is susceptible to entering the engine bay
