headlight dilema
hey everyone!
so I've had my Z, roughly six moths now, and ever since i bought it I've been debating on whether i should paint my headlight housing or not. And I've given up lol. I just can't make up my mind and was hoping to get your guys opinion because its driving me insane anywhoo, i was also considering a lip. possibly the stillen lip.. MAYBE color matching it with the body. not sure yet.. but here are some pics so you guys can get an idea of my car (excuse the cheap photography skills) lol thanks everyone |

As much as we (I) would like to offer advice on how you should mod your car, it is your car, and it is up to you to personalize it the way you like it.
With headlights, it is a fairly permanent mod so there's no going back. There are plenty of PPW Zs with painted headlights from black to color matched. See what you think works best to your taste. BTW, your wheels look great! Very smart decision since the wheels make the biggest difference on a totally stock looking car. I'd recommend a small drop. The NISMO springs are very mild (barely 0.5"). The Swift springs are great, but your car will bottom out if you're not careful. My precious lip kit and exhaust cans endured steep driveways and big speed bumps.

Start at the back and get a spoiler. S-tune or sport model.
My $.02.

Personally i think headlight mods adds quite a bit to how the car looks. I had the same problem but ended up doing it anyways and i must say that i have no regrets.
You can always swap it out later |

Headlight work is always a good mod, keep in mind that its a permanent one...The plus side is not everyone on the block has modded lights, if you can do it yourself then you'll definetly save some coin in the process. Here is some examples of my set I just recently did.

^^^^ I want those! Very cool idea with the blue. May have to steal that when I do mine.
I am in the same boat and currently lining up to get my headlights done and a lip. I would definately second guess the Stillen lip unless you are going to try and fabricate something to keep it from sagging. The Evo-R lip is another less expensive alternative. Or look at some of the replicas...Top Secret, Mines, Ings+1 etc. Whichever one sets your pants on fire go with it.

Ings Replic on my car currently, Just sold my CF Shine lip. The only cheap way should be to buy a used one... Otherwise buys a decent one from a reputable dealer... Research will pay off. Here is examples of my lips.

Personally what I would do is paint the chrome housing silver, I like to match the wheels or door handles. Then paint the shrouds pearl white. I would also add retro fit amber halos since they look white when off. I painted a friends headlights silver, you can see the difference on the first car in this pic.

I'm not one for all the fancy lights and halos and stuff, keep it simple in my opinion. Having been doing headlights for a while, I would have to agree that subtle changes make the most impact, and being able to to it yourself speaks volumes.

This should answer your questions as to whether or not you should do it...
