Help - Car stays on "lock"

Hello,

Couple days ago my car wouldn't start.

Key battery discharge indicator is on. I thought it was the batteries for the keys, so I replaced them today with new batteries.

I can unlock/lock/alarm using the key, but the car does not turn on.

It doesn't even go from "lock>acc>on".

All dealerships are closed, so I do not know who else to contact.

Thanks,

H. Gimenez

Probably your steering lock has failed . Another victim :shakes head:

Sounds like your SLU has failed. Try beating on the SLU and it might recover long enough for you to disable it (I recommend pulling the fuse, but there are other options).

Glad you got your problem fixed without having to pay an arm and a leg. Now you know your steering lock is practically broken so don't ever let anyone put a fuse back in there.
